Weld Overlay Cladding

At Renown Oil and Gas, we have invested heavily in weld overlay cladding capabilities to provide our customers with the full turnkey package. Renown Oil and Gas has the weld technology to clad bores measuring up to 1.5m diameter and weighing up to 5 tonnes. Our experienced weld overlay technicians operate a Fronius ETR cladding system with additional Jetline bore cladding machines. Our range of bore cladding machines provide customers with many weld technology solutions including overlay in the horizontal position and automated butt welding. Fully Qualified and Witnessed Welding Procedures

Renown Oil and Gas has developed welding procedures for all the common alloys used specifically in the oil and gas industry. These welding procedures are fully qualified and witnessed contributing to the quick turnaround our oil and gas customers expect. Stellite 6 Hard Facing Weld Overlay

At Renown Oil and Gas, we continuously increase our range of prequalified procedures to improve the variety of weld overlay solutions available to our customers. We are able to offer hard facing overlay of stainless steel (316), Duplex and Super Duplex with Stellite 6. Stellite 6 provides resistance to mechanical and chemical degradation over a wide temperature range and maintains a reasonable level of hardness up to 500C (950 F). Stellite 6 is OIL AND GAS therefore appropriate for use on subsea components.

Corrosion Resistant Weld Overlay

Renown Oil and Gas provide a comprehensive range of base material/cladding alloy alternatives. We offer corrosion resistant and hard facing weld overlay cladding using a number of base materials including carbon steels, Duplex, Super Duplex, low alloy steels and stainless steel.
Our welding engineers have over 30 years of experience developing weld overlay procedures for the oil and gas industry and can offer their expertise on the suitability of weld overlay combinations for specialist subsea equipment.

Quality and Testing

Renown Oil and Gas is approved by ASME and is able to provide specialised weld overlay solutions for customers free-issue components as well as manufacturing complete components. We provide an anti-corrosion weld overlay solution before completing manufacture of the component within our fully operational machining facility. Renown Oil and Gas operates at the highest standard of quality provision and is accredited by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance to ISO 9001:2008. We provide customers with NonDestructive Testing including DPI/MPI and ultrasonic testing. When required, approved subcontractors conduct PMI, X-ray and heat treatment to validate the integrity of our products.
