Uploading firmware
There are three types of firmware file, one for each of the available protocols for Ardac Elite: ID003, Netplex and ccTalk. You will need to know which protocol applies to the Ardac Elite being programmed when selecting the firmware file to upload. The files are identified as follows: Netplex COMBINED XE024 ID003 AE3 ccTalk AEC Note: It is possible that you might have a range of machines using different protocols, e.g. some using ID003, some Netplex and some using ccTalk. If this is the case, the Ardac Elite EP will allow you to program each one individually. Up to six firmware versions can be programmed into EP. There are two modes for loading firmware files on to the Ardac Elite EP: Update: this uploads the latest version of the same firmware type Overwrite: this uploads an earlier version of the same firmware type. Overwrite requires Headmaster access for which an authorisation code is required, please contact Money Controls for further information. NOTE:- IGT Netplex will be supplied with combined Firmware and Tables. When updating Netplex Ardac Elites then Overwrite mode should be used. The Ardac Elite EP CD contains the version of the Ardac Elite firmware that was current when the device was shipped. If there have been subsequent updates, the latest version of the firmware can be downloaded from the Money Controls web site.

Programming Macros
Macros can be programmed into the Elite in various ways: 1. by association with the Firmware 2. by association with the Tables 3. by programming a macro only The picture below shows that each of the 6 macro positions can be associated with each of the 6 firmware files and / or each of the 6 Note table files or as a macro only.
For Example Below:Macro 1, Ardac6 Enable St will run when Firmware 2 AE3-F1-V7.24 is programmed into an Elite. Macro 2 Ardac6 EnableAll will run when Note Table 1 EU\001-014 is programmed. Macro 3 Ardac6 FL Dual t will run every time the EP is connected to the Ardac Elite and the program button is pressed.

3. Connect the A type USB connector to the EP this is used for the data transfer. 4. Connect the B type USB connector to the EP this is used to power the EP No batteries are required
To test the EP is working, ensure the LED is constant Green. Enter a known false note. The note will be held in escrow for a few seconds and then returned more slowly than usual for a true reject note. The LED will flash Green and the return to constant Green after about 8 seconds. If the note is entered again before 30 seconds has elapsed, then the note will reject as normal. If the LED flashes Red, then there is no communication with the Ardac Elite. Reasons could be:1. The EP is not connected to the Ardac Elite correctly. 2. The rear FTDI chip on the Ardac Elite is not programmed. If this is the case, then another Ardac Elite must be used. The rear FTDI cannot be programmed in the field.

The Status bar will also change to Device Read as shown below.
6. Click the Debug tab Information relating to the EP download status and its installed software is displayed.

The Debug screen shows the following information:EP Storage version AES-F1-V1.09 Number of data files 3 The first data file will be the map file of the Ardac Elite. The following Data files are the actual note data which has been encrypted. Each file size being 214K.
The files themselves are stored in the following directory:C:\Program Files\Money Controls\EPHost\Data
The .ndg files can be zipped and sent back to Money Controls for evaluation. Once the Storage Data has been successfully retrieved select the <Files> tab and click on <Flash Erase>.
