Elizabeth M #709 Illegals in America Illegals have been coming for centuries to live in America.

On one hand this is not good for the economy because the population will eventually be too enormous to hold everyone. But on the other hand some Americans are thrilled that illegals do certain jobs. So, should illegals be required to return to their homeland and then apply for legal status if they choose to return? Starting with the positives, illegal immigrants make an impact because if they speak another language (such as Spanish), citizens might have to learn to speak their language to be able to communicate with them. Illegals should be treated equally. People shouldnt be separated by race, language, or by intelligence. Therefore, illegals should be welcomed into America. Also, illegal immigrants have to go through a long process to become legal. Its always so much hassle! To some illegals its too much for them to take. But its eventually worth it to be able to live in America. Therefore, the law that the illegals can stay on a two year term is fair to all of the Americans. Finally, children who were born in America whose parents were illegal should be able to stay along with the rest of their family. For instance, since they were born in America, they are already legal citizens and are a part of the community. Its unfair that they should be required to return to their parents original homeland. On the negative side illegal immigrants dont make an excellent impact because they speak different languages (such as Spanish), and the American government has to hire teachers and professors to teach them English. It takes a lot of time to learn another language, and it would

cost too much to teach all of the illegals. Even though illegals have to go through a long process; a lot of American citizens believe that is the only way to become a legal citizen. Its quite hectic for the illegals, but for the legal citizens of America it is a stroll in the park. Therefore, the law that illegal immigrants can stay on a two year term is unfair to the legal citizens of America. Our last negative is that the children from illegal parents should be required to leave, no matter what the circumstance. If an illegal family has a child/children, they might use the children as an excuse to stay in America Therefore, illegal children and their parents should be required to return to their homeland. I believe that, on balance, illegals should be required to return to their homeland. They dont make the best impact on us. If they choose to come back, they should have to apply for legal status and go through the process. America should stay One nation under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all. All should mean those who legally belong here.
