SECTION A Answer two (2) questions 1. Discuss in detail, the concept of voyages and the impact of Columbus second voyage on the Caribbean. 2 a. EITHER Discuss, giving examples, European Divide and Rule ploy on the colonizer, EuroAmerican clonizers ploy on the colonized and colonized ploy on the colonized. OR b. Lord Nicholas Phillips former United Kingdom Chief Justice and soon-to-be President of its Supreme Court complained recently that British judges (the Privy Council) are spending a disproportionate amount of time on Caribbean cases. Examine this statement in light of the question of recognition by Caribbean countries of the Caribbean Court of Justice. 3 a. EITHER Discuss the anti-colonial strikes of the 1930s, the response of the Euro-colonial British government, the response of the neo-colonial PNM government toward the labor movement and the reaction by the labor movement in T&T. OR b. Examine the Tobago economy and suggest realistic considerations for its viability in the current Caribbean context/climate. 4 a. EITHER Compare and contrast the multi-faceted factors involved in Afrikan enslavement by Europeans and the Indian indentureship by the Euro-British, including their respective triangles. OR b. In your own words, discuss the tribulations which Tobago suffered in the course of transformation whereby an island which at the beginning of the 19th century had supported Bonapates dictatorship in France, became at the end of that century, a ward of crown colony of Trinidad.

EITHER Discuss the pillars and successes of Grenadas People revolution, U.S invasion and its impact on the region. OR The expansion of Europe in the Caribbean (and the Americas) was an evolutionary process of several distinct but in separable stages. Discuss.
