I choose to teach at Perspectives because of A Disciplined Life I am Alicia. I am Perspectives.

hen I was hired at Perspectives Middle Academy, I had two additional offers, both of which were signicantly more lucrative nancially. In addition to those contracts and my offer at Perspectives Middle Academy, I was expected to return to the school that I currently worked at and loved dearly. However, I was immediately attracted to the A Disciplined Life socialemotional learning curriculum at Perspectives. The academic and character education foundation that A Disciplined Life offers students is priceless. So, I traded monetary gain for spiritual, social, and emotional investments in my students. At Perspectives, I openly teach students the right thing to do and how to carry themselves as accomplished scholars. I am a leader of A Disciplined Life instruction and implementation at my campus, which is a priority at each school in our network. Our students are motivated to learn. They are seless. They take pride in being a part of the Perspectives family. They often come back to campus after they

have graduated and gone on to college to tell us that they appreciate what they have learned through A Disciplined Life. Like many young people, our students will make mistakes, however, through A Disciplined Life, students choose to apologize or nd a peaceful resolution all on their own. They take initiative and problem solve. At Perspectives, our students are goal oriented, ambitious, and dedicated. We are seeking transformative teachers who believe that all of our students can go to college, and who know that an education that addresses the whole child will help them succeed once they get there. We are a growing network, and we aggressively promote from within; our great teachers become instructional leaders, and 100% of our principals were once Perspectives teachers.
