TEAM KNOx RECRUITMENT FOR BAJA SAE INDIA 2014

TECHNICAL TEAM: All the students of first and second year who are interested in making it to Team Knox follow the following steps:

1. Form a team of 6 members. 2. Each member should select a topic out of the following 6 topics on which you will work during the recruitment: Engine and Transmission Steering and Braking Rollcage Design and Analysis+Ergonomics Suspension Kinetics Suspension Kinematics Wheel Assembly

Before dividing the topics read the rule book of BAJA SAE INDIA 2013 and go through the following introductions to each topic:

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION: It includes the designing of the transmission system which aims at the extraction of maximum power with minimum losses from the 10Hp Engine. It also includes the mounting procedure of engine and the method to be used for transmission of power all the way from the Engine to the wheels. STEERING AND BRAKING: Involves the calculations related to the parameters related to both process of steering and braking Both these parameters especially steering are related to both wheel assembly and suspension and require some knowledge of these also. ROLLCAGE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS+ERGONOMICS: Involves designing of rollcage in compliance with the rules on SOLIDWORKS and its impact testing analysis on ANSYS.

Ergonomics part includes building of a 5 second driver exit time test (in case of an emergency) video in CATIA and also the placement of driver in the rollcage with best possible comfort for the driver. SUSPENSION KINETICS: Involves the vibrational analysis of the suspension parameters of the car taking the best possible frequency ranges for driver comfort as well as the best static as well as dynamic performance of the car. Involves the use of MATLAB(SIMULINK AND SIMECHANICS).

SUSPENSION KINEMATICS: Basically involves testing of the behaviour of different static parameters of the wheel assembly during the realtime dynamic events that the car undergoes. Also tests the safety factors of the suspension components during these events. Involves the use of ADAMS and ANSYS. WHEEL ASSEMBLY: Determination of the initial parameters of the geometry of the wheel and the assembling of different components that join wheel and the suspension. P.S: Each applicant will be given additional points for innovation related to any aspect of the car. 3. Send the information of each team member to knoxracers04@gmail.com by 2nd October,2012. Evaluation Scheme: Each applicant will be judged on his performance in the tests and quizzes that would be held often. Each team will give a presentation at the final stage of recruitment where each member would be judged separately on the work done during the dedicated period. Apart from the presentation there would also be a round of questionnaires on the knowledge of the dedicated topic as well as on the knowledge of other topics.

5. Each team will be given a mentor who will guide them on general topics and how to go about. 6. Apart from a team mentor there will be mentors on each specialized topics who will guide the applicants on the respective topics. 7. Lectures will be holded by present members of team knox to impart you basic as well as advanced knowledge of different topics.

MARKETING TEAM:
The team can not function without funds so for that marketing team is being recruited for team knox. The budget of our project ranges from 5-7 Lakh INR.
