This solution provides synchronization of Microsoft Active Directory with the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 company directory on the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise.

Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise, Alcatel OmniVista 4760 Synchronization between a company directory and the telecommunications infrastructure is an ideal way to gain efficiencies in the operations of an enterprise because there is no time wasted manually comparing or updating more than one directory. Synchronization ensures that all business organizations directories reflect the most current information, so that employees at all levels can feel confident that they are working with accurate and timely information at all times. Features______________________________________________________________ Synchronization of the MS Active Directory and the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 (3 fields - first name, last name, extension - are synchronized in the base solution (see Options)). Automatic user phone number assignment Specific modifications in the MS Active Directory are automatically transmitted to the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 and the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise. Telephony Management: configuration of the users access category and voice mail access within the selected Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise by utilizing a set of phone profiles including several parameters such as public access categories, voice mail, programmable and soft keys. Operation____________________________________________________________ This adapter, developed by Alcatel Professional Services, automatically recreates the tree hierarchy of the MS Active Directory within the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 company directory. New users created in the MS Active Directory will automatically receive their phone number as assigned by system management.

When the Last Name or First Name is modified in the MS Active Directory interface, those attributes are automatically synchronized first into the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 company directory and then into the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise. The unique key used to differentiate users is called the Unique ID, which can be an employee ID, a phone set ID, or a combination, etc. The company directory of the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 contains the necessary phone information, and the Unique ID field must be enabled. Every action carried out by the adapter will be logged in a text file to allow the tracking of changes made and to aid in problem resolution. Telephony Management: The Telephony Management integration provides a Webbased application that allows the MS Active Directory administrator to create users based on predefined profiles (access category, voice mail and keys) within the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise. This application adds a new tab in the Microsoft Active Directory Management tool and allows to request the Web browser to launch Alcatel Telephony management interface. John Smiths phone number is then presented automatically by the Alcatel OmniVista 4760, and the adapter updates this phone number in the Microsoft Active Directory.

Requirements or Conditions_____________________________________________ Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise version R5.0 or later Alcatel OmniVista 4760 OPS license in the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise. The Alcatel OmniVista 4760 version must R3.0 or later; the license for the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 must include the optional Directory module. The STAP and Call by Name flags must be enabled on the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise phone sets. The Company directory must be compliant LDAP V2 at least. An LDAP connection through IP network between the Alcatel OmniVista 4760 server and the Microsoft Active Directory server. The Microsoft Active Directory server must be Windows 2000 or Windows 2003. The use of the MS Active Directory - Alcatel OmniVista 4760 adapter requires the purchase of the adapter license from Alcatel Professional Services. This license does not include either the integration of the adapter into the Customer environment, or its customization. This assistance for installation and integration is mandatory: the Business Partner has to request these services from Alcatel Professional Services who will issue an additional quotation. Options_________________________________________________________________ Expand list of the synchronized fields: As a complement to the 3 synchronized fields offered in the base solution, Alcatel Professional Services can provide synchronizations that use more fields from the MS Active Directory and Alcatel OmniVista 4760 company directories. The detailed list of additional fields would be established in a requirements definition process. A Maintenance Contract on Specific Developments (MCSD) to extend the warranty for the development from the basic 3-month warranty period to a one-year renewable agreement can be provided by Alcatel Professional Services.
