PROPOSAL for 60MW GAS ENGINE POWER GENERATION STATION

1. General Condition of the Power Generation Unit


The power plant is proposed to adopt 12 units of CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type engine to meet the customers requirement. The rated output power is 5200KW, the rated speed is 750r/min; the rated output voltage is 6.3kv, 50Hz. The unit adopts modular design and factory type installation. The engine, generator and field cabinet are integrally designed and installed. The outer engine oil, fuel and cooling water system are independently designed and installed. The basic configuration of the unit is CF/MIT 18MACH30G type engine, fuel system, gas system, cooling water system, lubrication system, compressed air system, inlet and exhaust system and voltage boosting system etc.

2. The Gas Power Generation Unit of CF/MIT 18MACH-30G Type Engine


CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type gas engine is made in China with Mitsubishi technology and license; main parts of the engine are imported from Mitsubishi Japan. The unit enjoys the properties of advanced technology, big capacity, small

size and safe and reliable.

3. System Configuration of CF/MIT 18MACH-30G Type Engine


The unit of CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type gas engine generation unit consists of the main generation set, unit auxiliaries system, and grid-connected power system. The main gas generation unit comprises the gas engine, main generator, shared base and subsidiary facilities (for example, the motor operated barring gear and oil mist detector etc). The cabinet and instrument cabinet which installed next to the units can help monitor and read the motor working performance and alarming indication and also provide the real time control for the motor. The activities of ready for start, set up, synchronization and grid connection, load regulation, stop etc can be realized by local operation panel.

CF/MIT 18MACH-30G Unit Structure

The system of gas-taking preprocessing has the functions of gas filtration, pressurization, cooling, dewatering, heat exchange and fire retardant. The system can constantly and unwatched auto-operate and auto-adjust to meet the changing of air supplying and the unit loading. In order to simplify the process and decrease the number of parts and the size of the area, every two generation units provides one set of gas preprocessing.

The grid-connected system can realize the synchronization and load control functions. The power generated by the units can be delivered to the power grid outside by using high-voltage switchgear board, isolating switch etc. The performance of the units can be read by the computer in the operation station and also the orders from the operation station can remotely control the units by using the bidirectional communication with the generator units.

4. Technical features of CF/MIT 18MACH-30G Type Engine Generation Unit


The generator units of CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type engine adopts advanced technology, modular design and good extensibility. The remarkable advantages that the units enjoy include: Advanced technology, high generating efficiency, low discharge

A. Micro-diesel oil ignition technology


The best remarkable feature in CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type engine is to adopt micro-diesel oil ignition technology comparing to the other gas engine. The energy capacity of diesel oil ignition is 8000 times of the spark plug, because the sufficient gas conflagration in the cylinder can improve the heat efficiency and lower the discharge. The average 43.5% and the highest 45.5% of heat efficiency stand for the most advanced technology level in the current gas engine worldwide. Along with the high generating efficiency, the units also have an average 200ppm Nox output and

100ppm at the lowest. Diesel ignition is totally able to solve the accident fire inside the cylinder, avoid the instability of spark plug ignition and highly improve the generators application safety and the adjustment for the air supply changing.

B. Cylinder branch pipe gas-taking technology


By using the Cylinder branch pipe gas-taking technology, the gas cannot mix with the air until the neighbouring point of the combustion which can remove the risk from the parts causing by mixing dangerous gas together. This technology can help the unit work normally even after the partial cylinders cease and that improves the unit daily rate of operation at the maximum.

C. M-RICS combustion diagnostic system


In the M-RICS combustion diagnostic system, every cylinder installs the pressure transducer to monitor combustion performance inside the cylinder. The system can help directly diagnose and optimize the combustion process and improve the speed and the accuracy of judging. It can estimate and prevent the knockings inside the cylinder in case of the unusual combustion in the early stage.

D. Complete function, easy operation, and widely-used automatic control.


Remote operator station is equipped for CF/MIT 18MACH30G gas engine control system, and the control and monitoring cabinets are equipped for each unit. Therefore the centralized operation can be processed in the remote operation station and the units can also be controlled, operated manually next to the units, along with the complete automatic control. The field control and monitoring cabinet can independently achieve the following functions such as starting/stopping, automatic controlling, supervision, protection, parallel mode of operation, load distribution control, and so on. Remote monitoring center can centralized monitor every sets and auxiliary equipment, record down the unit working performance. The widely-used automatic control can provide the auxiliary equipment with comprehensive automatic monitor and adjustment, such as gas supply system, lubrication system, cooling system, power-supply load distribution, and speed and voltage regulation and pre-supplying and so on. The units offer standard operation, such as starting preparation, starting,

grid-connected, load control, normal shutting down, emergency shutting down, monitoring, alarming, power factor control, quick start and so on. The function of quick starting can skip the preparation process and begin to commence and load as the twice speed as the usual normal speed of loading.

E. High reliability, long overhaul period, long service life


The CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type engine has only 750rpm speed and low mechanical movement load of parts. The rarefied combustion system can decline the discharge temperature to 450 (cylinder branch pipe) and 500 (engine exhaust emission main pipe), and also vastly lower the parts heat load and improve the reliability of the unit. To adopt the diesel ignition instead of spark plug is to decrease the fault rate of unit. The overhaul period can be extended by 2-4 time.

The CF/MIT 18MACH-30G type engine is the same serial of the KU30 diesel engine type; about 90% parts can be switched. By the end of the year of 2008, 243 sets of the KU30 diesel engine type have been manufactured and sale, among 175 sets of the MACH-30G diesel engine type have been manufactured and sale. Part of the engines has accumulatively worked 150000 hours. The high reliability of this serial engine type can be proofed by the long-term mature applicable results.
