Smoking should be banned!

A cigarette is tobacco wrapped in paper. Cigarettes affect people in damaging ways. They hurt peoples bodies, the environment and hurt people through second hand smoke. It is very effective to the human body. Smoking has a harmful effect on human body. As a result there are

Immediate and short-term effects are smelly hair, less oxygen to the brain, yucky skin, smelly breath, stained teeth, stained fingers, more coughs and colds. Medium and longterm effects are much worse than immediate and short term because it may cause blindness, a stroke, stomach ulcers, lung cancers, and poorer muscle toon and mouth and throat cancer. In Australia 15,000 deaths per year are caused by regular long-term tobacco. Some
diseases caused by smoking are: Lung cancer, bronchitis, heart disease and having strokes. Each year about 245 western Australians have body organs partially or completely removed because of problems caused by smoking. Each year this results in the removal of 55 lungs, 44 legs, 22 larynxes (voice boxes), 15 kidneys, 11 palates, 10 gullets, 10 stomachs, 10 wombs, 9 tongues, 10 bladders, 2 pancreases and 2 arms. This also effects the environment. Smoking destroys the environment. To make a cigarette trees are cut down to burn it and to

dry tobacco. As a result nearly 5 million hectares (600 million trees) of the forest is destroyed each year. Tobacco plants use more nutrients than many other crops, quickly reducing the life in soil. A modern cigarette manufacturing machine uses 6 kilometres of paper per
hour to wrap cigarettes and produce pack. In some countries it is estimated that each kilogram of tobacco uses at least 65kg of wood. Around 7 million tonnes of tobacco is produce worldwide every year. This is all really bad because less trees means less oxygen and less oxygen means less people and less people leads to death. Second hand smoking is also really bad. Second hand smoking is also known as passive smoking. Passive smoking is when someone is having a smoke then someone smokes form the same one. Passive smoking my effect: smelly clothes and hair, sore and/or watery eyes, sneezing and coughing, sore throat, breathing problem, increased risk of lung cancer and heart disease and ear infections. The amount of smoke a nonsmoker breathes in depends on how close they are to the smoker, size of the room, how many there are and how many has been smoked. Second hand smoke contains more than 4000 chemicals that are dangerous to human health. Australian States and Territories have laws that prohibit smoking in the work place, public places, restaurants and bars. However millions of children and adults still breathe in second hand smoke in their homes, cars, some work places and in public places. Smoking

should be stopped.

Smoking is not good. In Australia 15,000 deaths per year are caused by regular long-term

smoking. Imagine how much people would die cause by smoking in the whole world.
Altogether smoking is a terrible thing it should stop because millions of people die.

There are too many smokes are being produced worldwide.
