MEA SERVICES UPDATE

Making Services Delivery NCRs Key Competitive Advantage An Update from MEA Services VP Najeeb Hatoum Bill Nuti recently summed up the goal for NCR Services in one simple phrase: make services delivery NCRs key competitive advantage in the market. In this update, I want to let you know what MEA Services is doing to support this goal. Start with highly engaged Services employees: The heart of NCRs service business is people. Employees who are highly trained, well-supported and engaged are best equipped to deliver a great customer service experience. This has been an area of strong focus for MEA Services, and were making progress. Heres a quick summary: In April 87% of MEA Services associates responded to the Employee Engagement Survey. Based on the survey analysis, 64% of employees in MEA Services are considered Truly loyal, which is about 20% higher than the global NCR score and a 6% increase since 2011. This significant increase shows that our efforts to address improvement areas from the prior survey are making an impact. These efforts include supporting our CEs in their technical certification efforts, an increased focus on succession and personal development plans (an effort we continue to expand), monthly face-to-face team meetings using the Monthly Manager Toolkits, and regular opportunities for team members to discuss any concerns they may have. The effort continues. This month we will conduct Employee Engagement meetings to review the 2012 survey areas for improvement with our team members and begin development of our action plan. Listen and respond to our Customers: NCRs annual Customer Relationship survey provides clear feedback from our customers about what they like and dislike about service delivery. Some of the things they dislike include extended equipment outages, SLA misses and revisits (and I dont blame them!) Our ongoing Services Quality Index (SQI) metric tells us how were performing in the six areas that cause the greatest customer dissatisfaction. Im pleased to report that MEA Services is well ahead of our SQI goal and consistently leads all Services regions in terms of SQI performance. Eliminating revisits has been a special area of concentration in 2012, and in this area were also setting the pace. In fact, out of the 24,000 ATMs we track in our D1 database, currently only one is flagged as a priority revisit level-3 and less than 2.2% of the entire base is flagged at level-1! The impact of these and other efforts is reflected in the recent NCR Customer Relationship survey results. For MEA, the Services Truly Loyal score was 70%, up 7 points from last year with a significant increase in the number of customer responses. This improvement gives us confidence that were focusing on the right things, but our journey does not end here. We are committed to using feedback from these annual customer surveys to keep improving. Support the Sales teams effort to drive Service revenue: In the first half of 2012, MEA Services exceeded its revenue plan with a 12% improvement versus prior year. T&T and Financial continue to be areas of strength for the MEA Services Sales team. Recent wins include Hilal Bank, Crown Prince of Dubai office and QIB Bank. We look forward to supporting the sales teams effort to drive to a strong close in 2012. The NCR Services team is on a journey to make services delivery a key competitive advantage for our company, not only in MEA but in Asia and the other regions as well. Were listening and were responding. The journey continues Best regards Najeeb Hatoum P.S. Look for an update on APAC Services from interim Region VP Harry Defourny in the September edition.

SAIB Re-affirms its Trust to NCR

FINANCIAL

NCR Saudi Arabia has recently announced the signing of a very strategic contract with Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB) worth $1.2M for the implementation of a number of innovative software solutions, including NCR APTRA Connections, Remote Software Distribution, NCR Solidcore Suite for APTRA, as well as IMCRW Security Upgrade to enable ECD. In addition, SAIB has also signed a 3-year software maintenance contract, which covers all NCR APTRA package on 350 ATMs. This order/win is very special and strategic to NCR for the following reasons: 1- SAIB will be the 4th bank in Saudi to select NCR APTRA connections since the introduction of NCR APTRA Connections in Saudi about 2 years ago. 2- SAIB commitment for the 3 years SM&S. 3- SAIB plans for Phase 2 of the project in 2013 (NCR APTRA Connections Interact) to integrate SAIB ATM network with their CRM and do personalized messaging. 4- The first bank to order our remote ATM S/W distribution utility that is developed by the local PS team. 5- This win reaffirms SAIBs trust to NCR, as their strategic solution provider and partner, who can provide complete ATM solutions, unlike Diebold or Wincor, who are still selling hardware boxes. Congratulations on this outstanding win are due for the NCR Saudi sales, as well as PS teams and more specifically for Hussam Zahdeh (account manager), Wael ElAawar (Saudi & North Gulf MD), as well as Zubaer Naseem and Subair Z (PS consultants) and Taher Ali (PS manager).

NCR Outwits Competition at National Bank of Kuwait Group After an extremely challenging race between NCR and Diebold, , the NCR Kuwait team has managed to score a significant win with National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) Group. Incorporated in 1952 as the first indigenous bank and the first shareholding company in the entire Gulf region, NBK remains to date Kuwaits largest commercial bank and a key account for NCR. With high asset quality, consistent profitability, and strong strategy, NBK has managed to maintain its dominant market share with consistent and rapid growth locally as well as regionally. Its latest strategic move was the completion of its full acquisition of Boubyan Bank which is considered the Islamic Banking arm of NBK Group. Boubyan Bank is one of the highest growing Islamic banks in Kuwait with a clear strategy of offering NBK high class services to the affluent customers seeking Islamic Banking. The deal which is worth $974K covers requirements for the replacement of old ATMs, the pilot of NCR SelfServ 4 Financial Kiosk (first unit in Kuwait), as well as new branch expansion for Boubyan bank, which includes GBNA deposit ATMs, and Gasper Vantage Monitoring Solution (first implementation in Kuwait). The successful closing of this order was the result of a well-orchestrated team effort! Congratulations goes to Mustafa Awwad, Sherif Shawky, Gabi Abi Aad, Javed Anjum and Stephanos Mendonis (NCR sales team), Mohamed Abu Habib, Mohammed Arafeh and Kuwait services team, Jaypal Nambakat, Yahya AbdelKhaleq, and Muddassir Ali (PS team), Ahmad Murad (MEA PS team), as well as You-Yan Li for the support extended during the bid review process. A win in the SW and financial kiosk space is always a highlight, but when it is for NBK, one of the largest banks in MEA, it should be prime news! We worked as one team, we had a plan, and we executed the plan. Now we need to deliver so we can make this account a lighthouse account for all NCR solutions that we have installed there. Congratulations to the many contributors of this win! said Stelios Fragkos in congratulating the winning team.

Vietnam Gives NCR the Thumb!

FINANCIAL

NCR has won a deal in Vietnam to supply the countrys first ever biometric ATMs. Thirty-three NCR SelfServ 22e units with an integrated thumbprint reader have been deployed by Mekong Development Bank (MDB) in its first ever purchase of ATMs. Aside from the biometric technology, the deal is significant because MDBs parent, Maritime Bank, is a Diebold stronghold. Mekong was looking for a differentiator a way to attract the young, tech-savvy middle class, as well as aid financial inclusion and increase security against card skimming. The consumers thumbprint is used in place of a PIN to verify the identity of the cardholder. The bank is delighted with the success of its biometric ATMs and has embarked on an intensive marketing campaign what you might call a thumb drive! Congratulations on this win are due for Chew Chee Chin (NCR channel account manager), Jim Lim (NCR channel account director), as well as for NCR channel partner Microtec Vietnam team. Namely, Dang Thanh Phong, Nguyen Duc Chien and Nguyen Bach Viet, who were the key contributors to this win.

FINANCIAL
Cashcard Does a U-turn NCR is in the final stages of negotiating a five-year services contract with Australias biggest independent ATM deployer, Cashcard. Cashcard is an arm of the payments-processing behemoth First Data International (FDI), who, five years ago, gave Wincor its first and massive foothold in the Australian market with an order for 5,000 off-site ATMs. This represented a 20% market share overnight, with services provided by Wincors local maintenance partner, ITS. But already the tide is turning and NCR is on the cusp of winning back the maintenance. Once signed, the deal would see NCR maintaining more Wincor ATMs than Wincor. Next stop hardware!

RETAIL
Dubai Duty Free Continues its Journey with NCR Dubai Duty Free (DDF) continues its journey with NCR, with the signing of a contract for NCR RealPOS 82XRT units with i5 Processor technology worth $392K to be deployed in the Dubai Airport New Concourse 3, which will open soon. This strategic order was secured in close cooperation with Emirates Computers (NCR retail partner). Dubai Duty Free is a strategic account for NCR in the Gulf area and the first in this area to deploy the newest family of NCR RealPOS with i5 technology. At present, DDF has more than 300 NCR POS units operational in its outlets at Terminal 1, 2, & 3 in the Dubai International Airport. Congratulations on this win goes to Emirates Computers team, as well as Manoj Mishra, Nicholas Antonio and Michael Aniftos from the NCR Retail sales team. Habib, Manoj, Mike, Nick and all contributors, this is a very strategic win in one of the most visible accounts in MEA and across the world. Dubai Airport is among the largest airports in the world and millions of people, see the NCR POS performing hundreds of thousands of transactions every single day. The fact that for so many years Dubai Duty Free is using NCR POS is another example of the reliability and high quality products we offer, which ensure the ultimate consumer experience at all times said George Flouros, amongst others in his congrats message.
