Requirements Minimum educational qualifications: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least one year in Clinical Nursing Science: Health, Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Experience: Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid drivers licence. Willingness to complete ATICC Counselling Courses. Willingness to travel as required to outlying provincial districts (not extensive). Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of applicable legislation with regard to Nursing Policies regarding HIV and AIDS Counselling and Testing. ARV treatment regimes. Knowledge of HIV Testing (Rapid Screen); Infection Control, STI and TB infections with training experience. Knowledge of training material preparation and implementation of training in Infection Control, STI & TB and all HIV Tests and HIV Testing. Knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act (Act no. 85 of 1993). Good verbal and written communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Computer literacy. Duties (key result areas/outputs): Conduct skilled nursing duties (including stock control and compiling statistics). Institute, update and maintain Nursing Policy and Functional Procedure Manuals for ATICC. Plan, Prepare and Impart accurate information on STIs, TB, HIV Tests and RSD Testing, Infection Control on the general training courses in liaison with the ATICC Chief Training Officers. Prepare and deliver Clinical nursing lectures on HIV/AIDS/STI/TB and Clinical Management nursing lectures in TB to peers. Perform Occupational Health and Safety as per OHS Act no. 85 of 1993 or future revisions of same as required. Meet with Primary Health Care facility managers to select the most appropriate nursing and clinical staff to attend specific HIV and AIDS/STI and TB as well as ARV Induction and other related clinical management training courses provided by ATICC. Relieve at ATICC Reception, conduct First Line Telephone Counselling and undertake responsibilities attached to the ATICC Reception and Information components.
