COURSE DESCRIPTION This course will help you develop a deeper relationship with God and the community through a better understanding of your Christian humanity being moral persons, freely and responsibly discerning and making moral decisions based on experience and existing moral norms.

FINAL PRODUCT For your final product, you have a choice between a research paper , a creative presentation (by group) or advocacy shirt (printing) that tackles a current moral issue. Your work must exhibit your familiarity and deep understanding of the issue and the Catholic Churchs teaching vis-a-vis the issue that you have chosen. You must also give your opinion on how a student like you can be an instrument in the promotion of Christian moral values/ideals. ELGA-based rubric for the final output: A. Patriotic Category Choice of topic (moral issue)

Advanced (4 points) Topic deals with a current and pressing moral issue.

Intermediate (3 points) Topic deals with a current and important moral issue.

Elementary (2 points) Topic deals with an important moral issue.

Beginner (1 point) Topic deals with a moral issue.

COURSE POLICIES Prompt and regular attendance is required, however, if you are late, the first thing you have to do is submit a piece of paper (1/8) indicating your name, course/year/section, signature, date and the time you entered the room. Otherwise, you will be considered absent. You are responsible in monitoring the number of your tardiness and absences. Assignments/seat works/projects must be submitted on or before the due date. NO LATE submission will be accepted, except for a valid reason. Always be prepared with a blue or black inked pen and a clean sheet of paper (yellow pad) of different sizes. Special exams will be given only a week after the missed scheduled exam. For this purpose, you must secure and present a special exam permit/receipt of payment for special exam from the Registrar and Accounting Office respectfully. You are expected to behave properly inside the classroom by paying attention to the discussions and activities and showing respect to your teacher, classmates, and visitors (if there are). When answering the call of nature, you are expected to leave the room only for 5 minutes. You must observe the class seat plan at all times otherwise, you will be considered absent. You are not allowed to use any electronic device (i.e. cell phone, tablet, laptop, PSP, IPod, etc.) during class hours. You will be required to secure a copy of the textbook and handouts (if needed) for classroom discussions and activities. All other policies shall be subject to the provisions of the latest Student Handbook (SY 2010-2014).
