Dear Pastor and church leaders, I came across your email address through the Archdiocese of Santa Fe website.

The reason I am emailing you is to request that you remember the unborn children of New Mexico in your prayers and that you also ask for divine guidance regarding the eternal destiny of our country and its fallen leaders. I recently sent an email to the New Mexico Legislature as well as local leaders in Albuquerque after learning that third trimester abortions are still legal in the state of New Mexico (see email below). I was surprised to learn that a late term abortionist based in Albuquerque, NM was complaining publicly about how lax the regulations are in the state of New Mexico. That's a very big red flag when the paid executioner is heard more loudly those who we would expect to be laying prostrate before the Lord begging forgiveness. All abortions are an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. And we must work to abolish them all... a baby step is to ban late term abortions and work to have stricter regulations at the city, county, and state level. Most importantly, we must pray for a revival in the churches to open the eyes and ears of the pastors and the parishioners to the sin that separates them from God. And that includes you and me. Abortion is a symptom of a much bigger problem. And that problem is in the hearts of those that serve the congregation or themselves instead of God. Christ would not be pleased if he walked into the churches today. Most pastors would be thrown out onto the streets along with their parishioners. The same pastors who ignore the sin of abortion at their own peril as well as the scripture verse, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." - Matt. 7:22-23 This is nothing new, half of the New Testament is the Apostle Paul writing to a nascent church struggling with sin. The Catholic Church is in a slightly better position because its leader (Pope Paul VI) didn't embrace the sexual revolution. The Pope was clear on the official stance of the church when he issued Humanae Vitae, "Therefore We base Our words on the first principles of a human and Christian doctrine of marriage when We are obliged once more to declare that the direct interruption of the generative process already begun, and above all, all direction abortion, even for therapeutic reasons, are to be absolutely excluded as lawful means of regulating the number of children. How long will the Church turn a blind eye to the murder of the innocent? Many abortion clinics do not have a permanent presence by the Church. The Eucharist is noticeably absent outside of these temples of human sacrifice where babies that can live outside of the womb are dismembered.

The fact that I'm aware of it shouldn't concern the Church leaders, but while we're contemplating a self righteous rebuttal to the notion that we've failed: God knows. Until abortion is banned adoration should take place outside of these temples of human sacrifice. Including the altar of human sacrifice in Albuquerque, NM that is stealing the lives of third trimester babies. I'm told that Christ's presence is in the Eucharist. Then it's an appropriate location because God is surrounding these altars of human sacrifices as the souls of His children rise up into the heavens, "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." Matt. 18:10 All of us have a special responsibility to these babies because we know the truth. "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them." 2 Peter 2:21 There is still time for repentance and redemption. I know that we're experts at coming up with clever rationalizations that attempt to explain why we've turned our hearts away from God, but absent repentance the only other honest alternative is to burn the vestments and admit that we're in open rebellion with God. Several people in the state government were subsequently fired for an appalling lack of government oversight. More recently, Dr. Douglas Karpen, a late term abortionist in Houston, TX has come under investigation for allegedly killing babies born alive on a daily basis according to the videotaped confession of three of his former clinic workers. Their confession can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/9fhyJItGPko In recent months, several states have attempted to address their lack of oversight by requiring that abortion clinics meet the same health and safety requirement of surgical centers and that their doctors have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital, and perhaps more importantly, banning late term abortion altogether. A 2011 Gallup poll illustrates that restricting third trimester abortions is a bipartisan issue with 79% of voters who considers themselves pro choice being against third trimester abortion and 94% of voters who consider themselves pro life being against it. The majority of Americans, irrespective of political party, are against late term abortions. Late term abortions are those abortions that take place after the 16th week. I would suggest that the state consider banning all abortion after 16 weeks which the majority of Americans, irrespective of political party, agree is the right thing to do. In addition, I believe requiring all abortion clinics to abide by the same health & safety standards of surgical centers is another good first step toward eliminating tragedies like those that occurred in Pennsylvania and Texas as a result of late term abortion doctors not being properly regulated. Another hotly debated issue is informed consent. Even in extremely liberal European countries there are lengthy "cooling off periods". For example, in France abortion is banned on demand after 12 weeks and women are required to wait one week to make sure they're making the right decision. I believe a 72 hour to 1 week waiting period would address this important question in New Mexico. Along with a required sonogram that is provided by a third party not affiliated with the abortion clinic.
