Sunday, July 28 at 2:30pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist with the Most Rev. Richard G. Lennon as the celebrant.

During this Year of Faith, we are asked to learn more about the Catechism of the Catholic Church---Why we believe, what we believe:

What is Freedom? Freedom is the God-given power to be able to act of ones own accord; a person who is free no longer acts under the influence of someone else. God created us as free men and women with free wills so that we might decide wholeheartedly in favor of good, in fact for the greatest good. An individual can choose evil, but it does not make him happy, but rather deprives the person of what is truly good. St. Augustine wrote in the 5th century, The good man is free, even if he is a slave. The evil man is a slave, even if he is a king. (From the Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church) (Youcat #286)

Why a Holy Hour?

Volunteering to cover a specific hour of Eucharistic Adoration is one of the greatest and easiest ways to get involved in our local parish. St. Rose had such a great love for the Blessed Sacrament that she started Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in every parish in the village she lived in. (St. Rose of Lima, 1586-1617) (Insert Graphic 2303-0067.tif) Dont forget to purchase your Picnic Raffle Ticket! Top prize $5,000.
