About the artist

I was born and raised in Southern New Hampshire. I always studied Writing and The Arts. That is where my passion has always been. It made sense to apply to The University of the Arts in Philadelphia for Screenwriting when I graduated from High School. Philadelphia was equally inspiring and challenging for me to work with. It was hard being so far away from home, but having come over in 2008, Ive never looked back. Philadelphia is my home, now. At UArts, I took classes in Costume Design, Theatre Makeup, Special Effects, and Set Design alongside the mandatory Writing for Film and TV classes within my major. My Senior year, I was offered an internship on a film set from one of my old professors who was trying to work his baby onto the screen. Having had a background in Drag Makeup from high school, they allowed me to become their Key Hair and Makeup Artist. From there, I was promoted to Art Director in general, and got more heavily into Special Effects. When the film wrapped, it was like one had grown into three. Three film companies now via word of mouth wanted my help; another feature film, and two shorts. Those three grew into six. Film always has and always will be my passion. But underneath that is the desire to help people- to make things LOOK good- and to entertain while doing it. That is the core of the passion. I have found that that same passion can be attained in a Salon, on a gig, or even in my living room helping a friend get ready. So I ask you now to step outside the box, and take a peek inside a stylist you may not have been expecting I ask you now, to dream.

A touch of Style
No matter the length, my core intention is to make every man, woman, or child feel more beautiful, special, and entertained when they leave my chair. I believe everyone is equal, no matter what they bring to the table. Please enjoy my work on clientele, actresses, and even on mannequins at Beauty School.

TOP: The gorgeous redhead seen here received a faux hawk with her hip-length hair by braiding the sides to the scalp, and then adding volume to the top and pulling it all back into a ponytail. She wore the braids for weeks, seen here in her NO H8 photoshoot. BOTTOM: The blonde received a conservatively curly style for her graduation. The cute little 11 year-old girl with her long, natural hair received pin curls with a stove iron and a manicure with paint.

Work done for a school challenge: Finish three complete styles in One Hour

FANTASY HAIR When asked to create a Fantasy Hair Style, I like to think outside the box. With one hour as my time limit, I curled an ethnic mannequin, and formed a tarte top hat out of hair on the side of her head. I like to take my inspiration from time periods as I style. Im strongly influenced by the 1920s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, as well as The Colonial Period, and The Victorian Period.

Upper left: 1920s Long hair formed to bob with hairpiece made of peacock feathers by me. Upper right: 1930s Pin Curl bob pressed into style.

PERIOD STYLES

Competition Piece Based on Marie Antoniette and the French Revolution, I made this piece to enter our Picture Perfect Long Hair Design competition, in which I won First Place. Makeup done as well.

Making the cut

Whether the client wants more body in their look, an angle, less hassle, something more flattering, or just a new LOOK, I love doing haircuts. I offer a trim to every applicable new client that walks through the door to help keep them sharp and well blended, and- most importantly- healthy.

From Left to Right 45 degree to 60 on top for a clean, no hassle, short cut Page Bob with Razor Stacked in the back at 60 degrees, and angled toward face in the front 45 on the sides and 90 on top: The Halle Berry
10

Mens Clipper Cut This handsome man sat down in my chair and asked to be nearly bald. I also shaped up his hairline to keep him sharp and finished.

11

Ethnic Trim I airformed her beautiful, healthy hair straight, and as I flat ironed it to style, I trimed up her ends for a healthy look that would lay well around her face.

12

Timed Challenge: I timed myself to do one of my favorite cuts: Cut and Style in 30 minutes or less. Shes a squeeze cut back, then stacked into an almost 90 degree, with a front, assymetrical angle to really be trendy and unique. She began with a 0 degree from her longest side, all the way around.

Living COlor

Zonal Coloring, SpFX, Standard High and Low Lights and Balayage Whether youre simply going darker, want to try a red, need something super unique and fun, or want to try out Marylin Monroe Blonde, I would love to do your color. I have plans to continue education in Hair Coloring with as many brands as I can to expand my knowledge and become a Master of Color.

Corrective Color
Model: Lauren Davish Actress

Lauren came to me with an outgrown Ombre and wanted to go to a darker, richer brown. She showed me a photo of one of the Kardashians, who was also sporting balayage highlights. I asked her if she was interested to try, and she was VERY pleased with her results. I see her every six weeks for touch ups, trims, and new ideas.

15

Special Effects with Color

Model: Angela Ortega Rodriguez Painter Angela is a client who changes her hair up a LOT. She loves bright colors and unique styles. In keeping up with the Ombre trend, I prelightened her, then used a purple base with hot pink on the top for an Ombre of Color, all the rage for Spring, in a Semi so it provided little damage to her always changing style.
16

Natural High and Low Lights

Model: Calypso Brand Sign Language Interpreter/Professional Wresteler Caly is someone who just wants to look good without trying too hard. When the summer tamed her naturally red hair into a strawberry blond, she was not happy with the way it made her skin looked. We intensified her red, and brought dimension back into her life with very thin, natural high and low lights. Then, pin curled for her easy styling at home.

And

Ceramic Infusion

Blend-in with Glue A good way to achieve the look of highlights in relaxed hair, for someone who cannot use lighteneror even just to try them out!
18

Braid Design with Sew In For someone who wants an all-over weave sewn in, but hates the way glue makes her scalp feel- or is allergic to latex- the sew in is perfect! And theres no reason the underlying braids cant be just as snazzy for when she wants to take that hair out.

19

Another Blend In To demonstrate that no matter the length of hair (the short side seen above is all over length) anyone can wear a sew in and make it seem natural, if the right stylist is available.

20

Individual Braids with Artificial Hair Added Here, showing not just that I know how to braid neatly and close to the scalp, but that I also know how to do maintenance on them for a client that comes in feeling unclean or itchy.

Makeup
For clients, stage, and screen

Before/After
Model: Calypso Brand Sign Language Interpreter/Professional Wrestler Here, Caly is seen again- but for makeup. Ive done her makeup for many special events in her life as weve known each other for years, and she is not used to applying makeup on her own. The TOP is the makeup I do for her to seem edgy on a night on the town. BOTTOM makeup was done for her Junior Prom in Spring, 2011.

22

Film and TV
Model: Amber Figuerola Actress I met Amber on the set of Ingloda. Her hair was already pink and blue- I cannot take credit for that! But seen above is her natural beauty with very little makeup. TOP RIGHT is Amber dressed in a humorous Slumber Party scene of the film- standard beauty corrective. MIDDLE RIGHT is a 1950s inspired Victory Roll updo with a vintage, pin-up makeup style.

The bottom two shots are normal day-to-day faces of Ambers character Nikki in the film. The left is a shot of her in Nightmare Form from a delusion of the main character. She is made to look like a doll. The right is her standard makeup for the film.
23

Childrens Makeup
Models: Students at William H Elementary First Ever School Beauty Pageant The school called for artists, and artists they got. In two hours, I painted these cute little eight faces and did one manicure. To see them look in the mirror and light up was worth the volunteer work. They were adorable in the bright lights, and very happy to have someone pay them attention for two hours. Future models!

24

Stage Fashion
Models: CCP Students Empire students were called to the CCP Fashion Show and I signed up as an Artist. While my partner braided hair, I did their makeup for the main event. The Show Runners called for enhanced brows, natural, bright lips, and a pop of color on the eyes.

Be it a natural nail, acrylic, or just tips, I love doing decorative nail designs and techniques. Colors, shapes, matte finishes, glitter, polka dots, and more! I have an extensive nail kit and I love to use it.

Senior Nail Art Collection

The Candie Shoppe This is the collection I made which showed in the Senior Nail Art Display. I based my inspiration for the collection off of Pinup Patterns and various candies! In my collections, I dont shy away from using high fashion materials such as cotton, sponge, rhinestones, or glitter.

How to Build a Monster

Model: James Hurley Eventide, a short film, called for the upper body of a monster to be made from scratch. That is what you see, here. He was to have long, cracked, crooked claws with blood- or something- underneath be fully black, bald, without a mouth, and with various body scars and skin wrinkles, in addition to heightened muscles.
