ESSENTIAL BELIEFS The Bible

The Bible is Gods special revelation to humanity, centering on the glory of Gods grace through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, as the word of God, the Bible alone is our ultimate authority for all of life, theologically, devotionally and practically.

Faith
People are reconciled to God, not by their own good works, but through faith alone in the good works of Jesus. Therefore, someone becomes a Christian not by doing for God, but by receiving from God.

Grace
Salvation being through faith alone means that people are reconciled to God by grace alone through the substitutionary death of Jesus. Therefore, the Christians standing before God is a gift, not a reward.

Jesus
Our only hope of forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life is only gained through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by any merit or effort of our own.

The Glory of God

The goal of our theology is that God alone would receive the glory for redeeming, adopting and empowering sinners with new life. Therefore, there is no room for selfrighteousness in the gospel, but only for boasting in the cross of Jesus. For a more in-depth survey of our theological orientation, check out the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms and/or our extended theological summary on the Creekstone website. The Creekstone ofce is located on the Historic Square at 40-B Public Square South just above the Mass Bay Trading Company. The mailing address is PO Box 1234, Dahlonega, GA, 30533.

Message 5 of 5 An Audience of One

TODAYS KEY BIBLE PASSAGE: Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. (ESV) A LISTENING GUIDE FOR TODAYS MESSAGE: Main idea: With the approval of God, I do not need the applause of man. Because of the gospel, I am able to live before an audience of One so that no one gets ultimate inuence in my life other than Jesus. What practical ways can this affect my life? 1. I do not need to fear the _________________________ of others.

TWO SERVICE SUNDAYS BEGIN AUGUST 18th!

To accommodate our typical fall surge in Sunday attendance, starting August 18th, we will offer two services through September 22, one at 9:00 a.m. and the other at 10:45 a.m. The services will be identical except that GraceKids will only meet during the second service. If you are a regular at Creekstone, please consider attending the early service, which not only will open up much needed seating space, but also will provide a great opportunity to welcome and greet the many new folks who will be joining us at the second service.

A NEW 8-WEEK SERMON SERIES BEGINS AUGUST 18th: The Life God Blesses
In this new, 8-week sermon series in the Beatitudes of Jesus from Matthew 5, we will discover Gods design for the life that God blesses. Since Jesus description of blessing is so counterintuitive to our common, cultural way of thinking, what we will discover will surprise you, and may change you for the better in ways that you never imagined possible. You really can have a blessed life.
