Primary responsibilities: In addition to continuing to assume responsibilities as outlined in previous position: Provide strategic leadership with respect to worldwide compensation programs: work with Executive Team at setting compensation strategy and high-level design Manage plan design and administration for $300M total salaries & 2,600 employees : Hay position evaluations, market data, salary structure, salary adjustment procedures, incentive pay plan design and administration (including objective setting and assessment). Work with Executives Team on HR policy and program design and implementation (employee performance review program, workplace diversity initiatives, attraction and retention issues and strategies). Provide advice and counsel to senior line managers and to operating-unit HR Managers. Lead company expert on Executive compensation: stock option program, deferred share unit plan, performance share unit plan, etc. Manage corporate expatriate and international assignment programs. Prepare material for Human Resources Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors and attend quarterly meetings write HR Compensation section for shareholder proxy. A few accomplishments: Implemented new corporate-wide HR policies and administrative procedures throughout 45 operating sites and 3 countries after following $6 Billion Abitibi-Consolidated Inc. acquisition of former rival Donohue Inc. Enrolled Executive team and obtained approval to implement new long-term incentive design: partial substitution of stock options with performance vesting restricted share units. Developed and implemented 2 year HR / Info-Technology strategy for non-union personnel. Standardized position salary mid-points, titles, and evaluation process across all 40 North American operating units. Developed new automated (Lotus Notes) employee performance management tool: trained 50 division HR Managers and personnel.
