Installation/Removal .1 .2 .3 Provide construction facilities and temporary controls as required to execute the Work expeditiously. Prior to Substantial Completion, remove from the site all construction facilities and temporary controls. Make good any damage to or disturbance of existing property caused by such work. Restore affected existing property to a condition at least equal to that which existed prior to construction.

Temporary Electrical Power .1 .2 Temporary power will be provided at the site at a conveniently located central panel. Connect to delivery points in accordance with the Canadian electrical Code and to the satisfaction of the local authority having jurisdiction. Provide all equipment and temporary lines to bring power services to the point of use. Provide flexible power cords as required.

Temporary Lighting .1 Temporary lighting will be provided by the Construction Manager.

Temporary Heating and Ventilation .1 The Construction Manager will provide temporary heating sufficient to maintain temperatures of minimum 10oC and a general level of ventilation in interior areas where construction is in progress. The Trade Contractor shall provide and pay for additional heating and ventilation where required for specific tasks. Construction heaters used inside the building must be vented to the outside or be flameless type. Solid fuel salamanders are not permitted. Ventilate heated areas and keep the building free of exhaust or combustion gases. Ventilate enclosed areas as required to cure materials, to dissipate humidity and to prevent accumulation of dust, fumes, vapours or gases.

Temporary Water Service .1 .2 .3 Temporary water service will be provided at the site at a conveniently located connection points. Connect to delivery points to the approval the authorities having jurisdiction. Provide all equipment and temporary lines to bring water to the point of use. Provide flexible hoses as required.

The Construction Manager will provide sufficient temporary sanitary facilities for construction personnel. Maintain the facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.

Telephone and Facsimile .1 The Construction Manager will provide on site a telephone and facsimile machine for own use and the use of the Consultant. These facilities may not be used by Trade Contractors without the permission of the Construction Manager. The cost of long distance telephone calls and telecopier transmissions shall be paid for by the respective party. Prime Trade Contractors shall provide their own telephone and facsimile machine.

Site Offices .1 Prime Trade Contractors shall provide their own site offices, located where directed by the Construction Manager.

Temporary Enclosures .1 The Owner will provide temporary weathertight closures to unfinished door and window openings, tops of shafts and other openings in the building envelope. The Trade Contractor shall provide all other temporary enclosures required to facilitate the Work.

Dust Tight Screens .1 Provide dust tight screens or partitions to localize dust generating activities, and for the protection of workers, finished areas of work and the public. Maintain and relocate protection until such Work is complete.

Fire Protection .1 The Trade Contractor shall have on hand sufficient hand-operated fire extinguishers as required to extinguish fires that could result from the Work and as required by the authorities having jurisdiction.

Hoisting .1 The Trade Contractor shall provide and pay for all hoisting and erection equipment required to execute the Work.

Storage and Protection of Materials and Equipment

The Trade Contractor shall provide secure storage and protection for products to be incorporated in the Work, located where directed by the Construction Manager. This includes materials and equipment pre-ordered or pre-purchased by the Owner that are to be incorporated into the Work by the Trade Contractor. The Trade Contractor is responsible for damage to materials and equipment.

Protection of Installed Work .1 .2 Protect installed work and provide special protection where specified in individual specification Sections. Provide temporary and removable protection for installed products. Control activity in the immediate work area to prevent damage. Provide protective coverings at walls, projections, jambs, sills and soffits of openings. Protect finished floors, stairs and other surfaces from traffic, dirt, wear, damage or movement of heavy objects by covering with durable sheet materials. Prohibit traffic or storage upon waterproofed or roofed surfaces. If traffic or activity is necessary, obtain recommendations for protection from the waterproofing or roofing material manufacturer. Prohibit traffic upon landscaped areas.
