HCL Infosystems has a presence in 170 cities and 505 points of presence reaching 4000 towns throughout India and operations in emerging markets including South Asia, Middle East & Africa. It has a strong distribution network of 93,000 outlets in over 9,000 towns in India. Its manufacturing facilities are based in Chennai, Puducherry and Uttarakhand. It is headquartered at Noida. HCL was founded in 1976 and it has established itself as Indias premier hardware, services and ICT systems integration company offering a wide spectrum of products which include - Computing, Storage, Networking, Security, Telecom, Imaging and Retail. 1985

Bank trade unions allow computerization in banks; however, a computer can only run one application such as Saving Bank, Current account, Loans, etc. Sets up core team to develop the required software Advanced Ledger Posting Machines (ALPM). The team uses reusable code to reduce development efforts and produce more reliable code. ALPM becomes the largest selling software product in Indian banks. Designs and launches Unix based computers and IBM PC clones HCL promotes 3rd party PC applications nationally

6. Turnover of the organization

HCL Infosystems has reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 2,606 crores for the quarter ended December 31, 2012. Revenue from Hardware Products and Solutions business for the quarter was Rs.1, 092 crores, has shown a sequential growth of 57% and from Services business for the quarter was Rs 136 crores, has shown a sequential growth of 7%.The revenue for Learning business for the quarter was Rs 14 crores and from Distribution business for the quarter was Rs 1421 crores.

The flow of responsibility starts from lower level and flows towards higher ones. Every subordinate is responsible to his immediate superior, to perform work assigned to him.

There is direct reporting relationship between a superior and his subordinate. All managers work in a line of authority in the relationship of superior and subordinate and are known as line managers.

HCL believes in building a symbiotic relationship between them, the manufacturers, the consumers and the recyclers with the aim to promote integration and sustainability in

their operations to have least stress on the environment.

HCL over the years has integrated and innovated products for its customer's giving key emphasis on product life cycle management, commencing from sourcing, manufacturing to installation and recovery at the end-of-life of the product to ensure protection of the environment, health and safety of all stakeholders. In building a system to identify, develop and sustain the maintenance of an environment management system at corporate level they have formulated a program that is refered as HCL's ecosafe.

HCL offers corporate clients upgradations and replacement options for its product range. HCL supports the need to have an EPR/IPR policy framework for our country over a period of time and believes that a comprehensive legislation on these is the need of the hour as enshrined in the Draft Guidelines for Environmentally sound management of e-waste (by the Central Pollution Control Board and the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India) and the National Environmental Policy.

12.4.1 Key Objectives:

The key objective of HCL's 'E-Waste Policy' aims at providing efficient and easy product recovery options to its consumers to facilitate responsible product retirement of all its manufactured EEE products. The key objectives of the policy include :

As a part of HCL`s initiatives on recycled materials, HCL has adopted a stand to use recycled materials in all the areas applicable. To begin with, HCL has initiated measures to use recycled plastics in our products.
