Firstly to my respectable headmistress, Pn. Doris Limun for her guidance and useful suggestions. PAPER WORK Program Title: Month of English Head Panel (May) Mission: To upgrade pupils potential in their capabilities of language communication to fulfill the needs of oneself, to acquire knowledge, social interpersonal and intrapersonal within their daily life. Objectives : To make the pupils to be familiar with the Seven Multiple Intelligences in their daily education life especially in this month of English Head Panel, whether directly or indirectly without realizing it by taking parts in all the activities held within this month. (E.x. Logical mathematical, linguistic Intelligence, Visualspatial intelligence, musical intelligence, body kinaesthetic intelligence,Interpersonal intelligence and intrapersonal intelligence) To make sure that at least the weaker pupils are able to at least read simple sentences, learn simple new vocabulary and understand the meaning. To encourage the pupils to communicate in English especially during the English Day, English Assembly and Guidance class. To drill pupils potential in term of writing (journal writing), spelling (spelling-Bee), solving crossword puzzle, reciting poem and Storytelling (public speaking for children) To let pupils to experience that Learning English is Fun in the Message Tunnel and Treasure Hunt activities. Rationale : The pupils can show their capabilities in English Communication, acquiring more vocabulary in their English Knowledge, solving problems and make decision in their daily life. Objectives : At the ends of this activity : Steps : Attachment of English Day poster in every class and in the staffroom. Yr 1 Yr 6 pupils are able to communicate using simple english. Teachers are able to communicate fully in english language with the pupils. Teachers are able to communicate in English among them. All teachers, KTBM and pupils are able to communicate in using simple english.

Values : Self confidence, bravery, soft spoken, cheerful. Reflection : Teachers, pupils and KTBM are very enthusiatic and happy communicating using simple english. Teachers, pupils and KTBM gained their self confidence and bravery in communicating simple english.

Date : 07.05.2007 (Monday) Place : Assembly site Time : 7.50 am - 1.10 pm Target group : 1) Pupils - Pupils (Yr 1 Yr 6) 2) Teachers - Pupils 3) Teachers Teachers Activity : ENGLISH ASSEMBLY Skills : 1.4.1 Listen to and follow simple instructions and directions accurately. 2.1.3 Say aloud phrases, expressions and exclamations with the correct stress and intonation. 2.1.4 Ask questions with the correct intonation. 2.2.1 Ask WH questions to seek information. 3.3.2 Read and understand simple compound sentences. 3.4.2 Read aloud sentences in texts observing correct stress and intonation.

Objectives : At the ends of this activity : The prefect on duty is able carry out his/her responsibilitiy in carrying out the assembly protocol in english language. (Based on given English Assembly Protocol) Teacher on duty during that week is able to converse using simple english language for any announcement made. Other teachers also able to converse using simple english language during the English Assembly.

Steps : The English Teacher guides the Prefect on duty for that specific day to practice the English Assembly protocol 2 week before the assembly. The English Head Panel then asks he/she to practice the protocol of English Assembly together with the other pupils inside the class. This is to make them visualize the real situation when the first English Assembly held. The chosen Prefect on duty on 07/05/2007 and 14/05/2007 will then carry out their task during the mentioned date. Values : Self confidence, bravery, soft spoken, cheerful. Reflection : Teacher on duty, prefect on duty and other teachers are able to converse in english during the English Assembly. Teacher on duty, prefect on duty and other teachers gained their self confidence and bravery in communicating simple english. * Activity photos are attached.

Date : 08.05.2007 (Friday) Place : Yr 4 and Yr 5 classes Time : 11.40 am - 12.40 am Name of teachers : Teacher involved during the period from 11.40 am - 12.40 noon En. Azizan Abdin year 5 (Facilitate by Pn. Agnes Zining) Pn. Safarina Pilang year 4 (Facilitate by En. Albert Mukis) Activity : GUIDANCE CLASS(TUTOR/TUTEE PROGRAM) Skills : 1.2.1 Listen to and repeat the pronunciation of compound words correctly. 2.1.3 Say aloud phrases, expressions, and exclamations with the correct stress and intonation. 3.1.4 Read aloud phrases and sentences pronouncing them correctly. 3.7.1 Read and locate the required words in the dictionary.

Objectives : At the ends of this activity : Tutees will be able to read a short passage and learn a few new vocabulary. Tutors automatically can improve their reading and understanding by teaching the tutees to read and understand the meaning of all the vocabulary in the given reading passage. The English Head Panel and the secretary will facilitate the Teacher on duty during the particular period. Teacher on duty during the Tutor -Tutee program for year 4 and 5 will be the facilitator to facilitate the pupils when this activity is being carried out. Steps :

Teacher on duty split the pupils into to their Tutor/Tuttee based on the given list of Tutor/Tutee groups prepared by the English Head Panel. (For year 4 & year 5 groups) Teacher on duty will asks the pupils to arrange their table for the Tutor/Tutee program. ( 1 table for each Tutor/Tutee) Tutor will be facing his/her tutee and asks her/him to read the given reading passage. Tutor will then guide his/her tutee to pronouce the words correctly and find the meaning of difficult words. Teacher on duty will facilitates both the Tutor/Tutee if he/she thinks that the Tutors have wrongly pronounce certain words, that he/she teaches to their tutee. The time duration for this program will takes 1 hour.

Tools/Materials : 1) Short reading passage The wolf and the crane - Year 4 The shepherd and the lion - Year 5 Values : Attentiveness, Alertness, Self confidence and co-orperation Reflection : The pupils really enjoy themselves doing this activity. Read and understand simple and compound sentences. Write words phrases and sentences in clear legible cursive writing.

Target group : Level 2 pupils (Yr. 4,5 and 6) Objectives : At the ends of this activity : Pupils are able to read, understand and carry out the given task.

Pupils are able apply their listening and speaking skills among all the group members by solving the task together. Pupils show their interests and efforts in doing the activity. Steps : Teacher explains the game rules and conditions. Each group will be given a task which is a message that need to be pass to each of the group members. During the process of passing the message/the message must not be exposed to any changes. The fastest group to solved the task will be the winner ifmand only if they follow the Message Tunnel rules and conditions.

Tools/Materials : 1) Message statement MANY THINGS I LOVE TO EAT OFTEN I HAVE THE WISH TO EAT RICE AND MEAT AND SOMETIME FISH Values : Coorperation, Team works, Attentiveness, Alertness Reflection : The two groups are able to understand the given task and carry out the task with full of efforts and interests. Target group : Level I & II pupils Objectives : At the ends of this activity : Pupils are able to find the hidden name of animals in the crossword puzzle. Level 1 pupils are able to find 10 hidden words and level 2 pupils are able to find 15 hidden words.

Pupils show their interests and efforts in doing the activity. Steps : Teacher explains the crossword puzzle rules and conditions. Each candidates will be given a piece of WORD MAZE paper. Level 1 pupils need to find 10 hidden animals name in the WORD MAZE. Level 2 pupils need to find 15 hidden animals name in the WORD MAZE. Both the Level 1 & 2 pupils are given answers form for them to write down their answers.

Objectives : At the ends of this activity : Pupils be able to read out aloud, retell story with proper/correct intonation and pronunciation Pupils be able to read fluently and capable to understand the meaning of the whole stories. Pupils are able to retell short story with proper facial expressions, body language movement during their presentation. Pupils are able to gain their self confidence in speaking and retelling their short stories in front of many audience. Steps : The Master Of Ceremony(MC) welcome the headmistress to the hall. The headmistress gives a short speech. The English Head Panel organizer gives a short speech. MC introduces the judges for this competition. Participants from level i & II take turn to retell their stories.

Prizes gives away will be given during the Official opening and closing ceremony of the Month Of English Head Panel) Values : Self confidence, bravery Reflection : Participants really enjoy themselves during the competition. Objectives : At the ends of this activity : Pupils are able to spell given words correctly.

Pupils are motivated to memorize the given list English Vocabulary for their spelling test. Pupils are motivated to find the meaning of the given new English Vocabulary Pupils indirectly improved in their spelling capabilities. Steps : The year 6 class was selected for all the participants to sit for their Spelling Bee Selected candidates from year 4 to year 6 are instruct to take their places. Each candidates are given to be spell by the pupils. 20 English words are given to be spell by the pupils. Master Bee will read twice the English word and the candidates are to write the words in the given blank paper. After all the 20 words have been read out, Master Bee once again read out all the 20 words for clarification. Material : 1) 20 selected English Vocabulary. 2) Answers blank paper Values : Attentiveness, self confidence and alertness

Reflection : The pupils enjoy doing this activity. Candidates drill their brain to spell the given words. Master Bee carries out the Spelling Bee session strictly with the correct stress, correct pronunciation and selected vocabulary. * Activity photos are attached.
