ABSTRACT Purpose: This study was carried out in order to review the effect of pre-mixed coffee enriched with Tinaspora crispa to be used as an alternative drink for diabetes and hypertension patients. Method: A review done in five established research on the herbal remedies especially narrowed into a diabetes study. The produc t also tested on a small population (20 subjects and 5 controls) of volunteer human subject under proper observation. Result: There are lots of established study done on Tinaspora crispa showed that the respective herbal can be use not only as prevention but can reduced diabetes as it has a beta cells effect, also known as insulinothropic effect. The journal that reviewed was reveal a concordance to all studies did globally. Concluison: Brotocafe, a pre-mixed coffee enriched with Tinospora crispa can be advise as an alternative drink for patient.

INTRODUCTION The Brotocafe 7 in 1 is a pre-mixed coffee enriched with Tinospora crispa as a main herbal and blended with 6 other ingredients such as Brazilian Arabica-Robusta coffee, black pepper, ginger, rock salt, sugar and non -diary creamer is an excellenct beverage proposed as an alternative drink for diabetes patient. Tinospora crispa as its main herbal looks a like Tinasopora cordifolia or Gurduchi is an indigenous to the 1

tropical areas such as Malaysia, India, Indonesia and Thailand. Its has been used as medicine long time ago. B.J.Chee et.al (2007) reveals that the Tinospora crispa has an insulinotropic effect demonstrating insulin release potential that can treat diabetes also explored the remedies of this herbal and the co-relation with diabetic studies. The statement above also supported by a study from Dweek & Cavin (ND) that agreed about the betacell effect of the respective herbal. Indian scientists also revealed their

finding in 2007 (Modak, Dixit, Londhe, Ghaskadbi, & Devasagayam ) that the extract caused a significant reduction in blood glucose and brain lipids. The aqueous could elicit the significant hyperglycemic effect in different animal models. Bnouham, Ziyyat, Mekhfi, Tahri, & Legssyer (2006) also confirmed the past few years shows this herbal have clearly demonstrate the treatment of diabetes and new potential of antidiabetic agent. They also suggest that this plant delay the development of complication and correct the metabolic activities that lead to diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases. Methodology Other than reviewed on established research journal, 20 subjects and 5 controls were tested for fasting blood sugar (FBS) before and after consumed the Brotocafe coffee. The result than suggested for HBA1C test after next 6 months continued consuming the coffee. Result From the listed journal that supported of diabetic reducing agent contains in this herbal, Brotocafe also tested on 20 volunteers with diabetic and a group of 5 peoples as control. 100% of diabetic patients reduced their blood glucose from as high as 20mmol/L until as lower as 5mmol/l within 3 weeks.
