FOR SAFE BATTERY USE:
Keep the batteries out of childrens reach.
Any battery may leak battery acid if mixed
with a different battery type, if inserted
incorrectly (put in backwards) or if all
batteries are not replaced or recharged at
the same time. Do not mix old and new
batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium) batteries.
Any battery may leak battery acid or
explode if disposed of in re or an attempt
is made to charge a battery not intended
to be recharged. Never recharge a cell of
one type in a recharger made for a cell of
another type.

compartment lid off.
2. Carefully push back
on the battery release using a
non-metal tool. Battery will
pop up (see Fig. 4).
3. Remove old battery
from compartment and
discard immediately.
4. nsert one 3-volt CR
2032 lithium battery with
the positive side (+) facing up.
5. Replace the battery
compartment lid by sliding
it forward.

Instructions for use
Please do not use this ear thermometer when the
ear canal is wet.
1. Press and release the Power/
Scan button. The system will
start it's self-testing cycle
(see Fig. 5).
2. Once the self-testing is
completed (approximately 1
second), the thermometer
will beep and the display will
show the last temperature
recorded. This indicates the
thermometer is ready to take a
temperature (see Fig. 6).
3. Press the Power/Scan button
again. The symbol will
appear beneath the last
reading (see Fig. 7). The word
"Lo may also appear
indicating the temperature is
lower than 93.2F (34C) (see
Fig. 8). NOTE: The word "Lo
by itself does not mean that
the battery is low and needs
to be charged unless the low
battery icon appears with it
(see Fig. 2). t means that the
temperature being measured
is out of the thermometer's
range.
4. nsert the probe into the ear canal. The probe
must be inserted well into the ear to allow the
probe tip to continuously scan the ear canal.
This will ensure an accurate temperature
measurement (see. Fig. 9).

5. After one second you will hear
a beep indicating the reading
is complete. Remove the
thermometer from the ear to
get the temperature reading.
6. A smiling face will appear
indicating a temperature
reading lower than 100.4F
(38C). A frowning face
accompanied by one long and
two short beeps will indicate a
temperature of 100.4F (38C)
or higher (see Figs. 10 & 11).
7. You do not need to manually
shut off the thermometer. t will
automatically shut off after one
minute of non-use.
8. To change the reading from
Celsius to Fahrenheit, press
the Power/Scan button without
releasing it, then press the
blue M button on the
underside of the thermometer.
First release the M button and
then the Power/Scan button.
9. The Ear Thermometer stores
and recalls the last
10 temperature readings. To
recall the prior readings simply
press the blue M button on
the underside of the thermom-
eter. The memory symbol, the
number of the reading, and
the temperature reading will
appear on the display
(see Fig. 12).

1. The ear thermometer is a delicate electronic
device. Although the probe can be cleaned
with isopropyl alcohol, the body of the
thermometer should never be submerged in
water or any other liquid.
2. Clean the probe with a cotton swab moistened
with isopropyl alcohol after every measurement
and before each use. Clean the body of the
thermometer with a soft dry cloth. Never use an
abrasive.
3. Avoid touching the probe with your ngers.
4. Do not expose the thermometer to direct
sunlight.
5. Keep out of the reach of children when not in
use. The optimal storage temperature range is
4-122F (-20-50C).
6. Use the ear thermometer to take temperature
from the ear canal only. Do not use it to take
rectal, oral, or underarm temperatures.
7. Do not disassemble the thermometer.
8. Only use a 3-volt CR-2032 lithium battery.
Care and maintanance

1. Consistent low temperature readings.
a. The probe is not positioned properly in the
ear canal. The tip of the probe must be snug
and fully seated against the opening of the
ear canal. Failure to properly position the
probe may lead to a low temperature reading.
b. The probe lens is dirty. Clean the lens with a
soft cloth moistened with water or isopropyl
alcohol.
2. The word Lo or Hi appears. Temperature is
out of the range of thermometer.
a. The probe is not positioned properly in the
ear canal. The tip of the probe must be snug
and fully seated against the opening of the
ear canal. Please properly position the ear
thermometer in the ear canal and then
repeat the measurement.
3. Thermometer will not take a reading.
a. Check to see if the low battery icon appears
with the word Lo. If it does, the battery
needs to be replaced. See Battery
Installation section of the manual.
b. Check to see if the low battery icon appears
by itself. If it does, the battery may need to
be replaced. See the Battery Installation
section of the manual.

PARA UN USO SEGURO DE LAS PILAS:
Mantenga las pilas lejos del alcance de los

se mezcla con un tipo de pila diferente, si
se la coloca de manera incorrecta (puesta
al revs) o si todas las pilas no se cambian
o recargan al mismo tiempo. No mezcle

Cambie la pila cuando

1. Deslice y abra la tapa del
compartimiento de la pila.
2. Empuje con cuidado la traba de
la pila usando una herramienta que
no sea de metal. La pila saltar
(ver la Fig. 4).
3. Saque la pila vieja del
compartimiento y deschela
inmediatamente.
4. nstale una nueva pila de litio de
3 voltios CR2032 con el lado
positivo (+) hacia arriba.
5. Vuelva a poner la tapa de la
pila deslizndola hacia adelante.

Por favor no use este termmetro del odo cuando
el canal del odo est hmedo.
1. Oprima y libere el botn
de encendido/escaneado. El
sistema comenzar su ciclo de
autocomprobacin (ver la Fig. 5).
2. Una vez que se ha
completado la autocompro-
bacin (aproximadamente 1
segundo), el termmetro sonar
y la pantalla mostrar la ltima
temperatura registrada. Esto
indica que el termmetro est
listo para medir la temperatura
(ver la Fig. 6).
3. Oprima de nuevo el botn
de encendido/escaneado. El
smbolo aparecer debajo de
la ltima lectura (ver la Fig. 7).
La palabra "Lo (Baja) tambin
podra aparecer para indicar que
la temperatura es ms baja que
los 93,2 F (34 C) (ver la Fig. 8).
NOTA: La palabra "Lo (Baja) por
su cuenta no quiere decir que
la pila est descargada y que
necesita cambiarla a menos que
aparezca el cono de pila
gastada con ella (ver la Fig. 2). Quiere decir que la
temperatura que se mide est fuera de la
variacin del termmetro.

4. Coloque la sonda en el canal del odo. La sonda
debe colocarse bien adentro del odo para permitir
que la punta de la sonda pueda escanear
continuamente el canal del odo.
Esto asegurar una medicin
precisa de la temperatura (ver la
Fig. 9).
5. Despus de un segundo,
escuchar un sonido que
indica que se ha completado la
lectura. Saque el termmetro del
odo para obtener la lectura de la
temperatura.
6. Una cara sonriente aparecer
para indicar una temperatura
inferior a los 100,4 F (38 C).
Una cara preocupada
acompaada por un sonido
largo y dos cortos, indicar una
temperatura de 100,4 F (38 C)

7. No necesita apagar
manualmente el termmetro.
Se apagar automticamente

Centgrado a Fahrenheit, oprima

parte de abajo del termmetro.

9. El termmetro del odo
almacena y recupera las ltimas
diez lecturas de la temperatura.
Para recuperar las lecturas
anteriores, simplemente oprima
el botn M en la parte de abajo del termmetro.
El smbolo de la memoria, el nmero de la lectura
y la lectura de la temperatura aparecern en la
pantalla (ver la Fig. 12).
10. Si desea tomar inmediatamente otra lectura,
por favor espere por lo menos 10 segundos.
11. La temperatura podra variar entre un odo y el
otro de manera que trate de usar
el mismo odo cada vez.
12. El termmetro tiene una
variacin de la temperatura de
93,2 a 109,4 F (34 a 43 C). Si
la temperatura medida est por
debajo de la variacin, aparecer
la palabra "Lo (Baja). La palabra
"Hi (Alta) aparecer para indicar
que la temperatura est por
encima de los 109,4 F (43 C)
(ver las Figuras 13 y 14).
13. Si la temperatura ambiente
est fuera de la variacin del

1. El termmetro del odo es un dispositivo
electrnico delicado. A pesar de que la sonda se
puede limpiar con alcohol isoproplico, el cuerpo
del termmetro no debe sumergirse nunca en
agua ni ningn otro lquido.
2. Limpie la sonda con una escobilla de algodn
humedecida con alcohol isoproplico despus
de cada medicin y antes de cada uso. Limpie el
cuerpo del termmetro con un trapo seco y suave.
Nunca use un abrasivo.
3. Evite tocar la sonda con los dedos.
4. No exponga el termmetro a la luz directa del
sol.
5. Mantngalo lejos del alcance de los nios
cuando no lo usa. La variacin ptima de la
temperatura cuando lo guarda es 4 a 122 F (-20 a
50 C).
6. Use el termmetro del odo solamente para
medir la temperatura del canal del odo. No lo use
para tomar la temperatura del recto, oral, o en la
axila.
7. No desarme el termmetro.
8. Use solamente una pila de litio de 3 voltios
CR2032.
Atencin y mantenimiento

1. Lecturas consistentes de bajas temperaturas.
a. La sonda no est correctamente colocada en el
canal del odo. La punta de la sonda debe estar
apretada y completamente asentada contra la
abertura del canal del odo. No colocar
correctamente la sonda podra causar una lectura
baja de la temperatura.
b. La lente de la sonda est sucia. Limpie la lente
con un trapo suave humedecido con agua o
alcohol isoproplico.
2. Aparecer la palabra Lo (Baja) o Hi (Alta).
La temperatura est fuera de la variacin del
termmetro.
a. La sonda no est correctamente colocada en
el canal del odo. La punta de la sonda debe estar
apretada y completamente asentada contra la
abertura del canal del odo. Por favor, ponga
correctamente el termmetro del odo en el canal
del odo y luego repita la medicin.
3. El termmetro no completa la lectura.
a. Verique para ver si aparece el cono de la
pila gastada con la palabra Lo (Baja). Si aparece,
