Day 9 - Dead Sea, literature and bravery Breakfast at hotel.

Full day visit to the Dead Sea area, including Qumeran, home of the Essenes, where the famous "Dead Sea Scrolls" were found in the caves surrounding it; Travel along the Dead Sea west bank to Masada, a magnificent palace built in the Herodian fortress, the last stronghold of the Zealots during their epic battle against the Romans in 72 AD. Free time to access one of the Dead Sea beaches, known for their therapeutic benefits. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem Day 10 Breakfast, free time for shopping , relaxing or exploring Jerusalem. Assisted transfer to Ben Gurion airport. End of pilgrimage.

Proposed Itinerary:
Day 1 We depart Orlando to NY to connect to Tel Aviv. Reception with assistance; transfer to a hotel in Tel Aviv. Dinner & overnight Tel Aviv. Day 2 - Road to Galilee Breakfast at the hotel. Visiting Jaffa, including the artists' quarter, Saint Peters church, that marks the traditional sight of Peters Vision, Simon the tanners house, traveling through the main avenues and streets of Tel Aviv. Continue along the Via Maris along the Mediterranean Sea to the City of Netanya. See Netanya Academic College where Orson Hydes Square serves as a reminder of all LDS Presidents. Continue to Caesarea Maritima, where Cornelius became the first Gentile baptized to Christianity, visiting the Roman Theatre and, then, passing by the Crusaders fortification and the aqueduct by the sea shoreline. Continue northbound to Mount Carmel and the beautiful city of Haifa. Visit the German Templars Cemetery and, later, enjoy the view of the Bahi Gardens. Continue by the place called, In Arabic, the Mukhraka, where Prophet Elijah challenged the 400 false prophets of Baal. Visit the archaeological excavation in Megiddo, focusing especially in the remains of King Solomon structures and King Hezekiah's tunnel; crossing the Valley of Armageddon and through the hills of Galilee arrive at the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. Day 3 - Around the Sea of Galilee Breakfast at the hotel. We start the morning visiting the LDS Galilee Branch in Tiberias. Continue along the west bank of the Sea of Galilee passing by Magdala to the Mount of Beatitudes; proceed to Tabgha, the place of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, and the nearby rock pointing to the location of the Miraculous Fishing; by the end of the morning arrive at Capernaum, Peters Town, returning to Tiberias on a typical wooden boat cruising the Sea of Galilee. In the afternoon we will be visiting the Golan Heights starting by Tel Dan and, then, see Bnias, one of the main sources of the Jordan River and in it, the excavation of the city of Caesarea Philippi; traveling between the picturesque Druze villages on the Golan Plato, passing by agricultural settlements, old bunkers and monuments recalling the Six Days and the Yom Kippur wars. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - In the Heart of the Galilee Breakfast at the hotel. We will be traveling to the Galilee hills, visiting Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine at the Cana of Galilee wedding. We continue to the city of Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood and adolescence. Visit the Grotto of the Annunciation. Walking through the alleyways of the Arab market, visiting Jesus synagogue, where he revealed HE is the Messiah. In the afternoon, traveling along the Jezreel Valley (Armageddon), will visit the well of Harod, where Gideon chose 300 brave fighters to battle Jabin, king Hazor s formidable army. Continuing through Beit Shean, battlefield where Saul and his son Jonathan died following the defeat by the Philistines, though opening the way to the kingdom of David. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight. Day 5 - To Jerusalem Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving Tiberias to visit Jordans River, where pilgrims may renew their baptismal vows. We continue via the Jordan Valley, between Samaria and Judea, from one side, and Moab, Ammon and Edom on the other, coming to Jericho, the oldest city in the world, mentioned continuously during various biblical events, such as the conquest led by Joshua, resulting in the collapse of its walls, as well as the ascension of Elijah into heaven, and the teachings and miracles performed by Jesus; see the Mount of Temptation located behind todays town before departing to the Judean Desert seeing the place of the Good Samaritans and the town of Bethany, home of Martha, Mary and Lazarus then, arriving to Jerusalem, the City of the Great King, deliverer of the Divine Peace. Triumphal Entry Ceremony in front of the walls of the Old City before performing a brief city tour and head to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Day 6 Jerusalems, Mounts Around Breakfast at the hotel. the Roman Cardo, and walk the Jewish quarters allies to Mount Moriah; Visit the Archaeological Davidson Center and climb to the Temple Mount where Salomons and Herods Temple used to be, and todays Dome of the Rock Mosque stands (visit inside the Dome of the Rock is limited by local Palestinian Authorities). Visit the Wailing Wall along the archaeological excavation which includes a walk through the Tunnel of the Temple. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem Day 7 From Birth to Resurrection Breakfast at hotel. This day our visit begins in the city of Bethlehem, spotting the Matriarch Rachels Tomb, on the way to Shepherd's Field and Church of the Nativity. Return to Jerusalem, entering the old city by the Sheeps Gate, visiting the Pools of Bethesda, and the Basilica of Santana before walking along the Way of the Cross following the footsteps of Jesus to Mount Golgotha, the Garden Tomb and the Empty Tomb of the Lord, place of the Resurrection. Time for reflection and prayer . Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Day 8 - Jerusalem, modern city Breakfast at hotel. Panoramic city tour in the "modern" Jerusalem, traveling by Government Hill, the Supreme Court of Justice, the various Ministries and the building of the "Knesset" - the Parliament, stopping close by to visit the Menorah: seven-branched candelabra. We then continue to the Israels Museum to see the Model of Jerusalem during the times of Jesus and the nearby Shrine of the Book hosting some of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Travel a short distance to arrive into the museum of the Holocaust Museum, main monument commemorating the victims killed by the Nazis during World War II. In the afternoon travel south of Jerusalem, to the Lachish Area, visiting Beit Lehis archaeological site. The site is run by the Beit Lehi Foundation: (http://beitlehifoundation.org) where Douglas E. Witt of Brigham Young University is on the Board of trustees. Most tours to the Holy land do not include a visit to this site but we insisted that it was: (1Nephi 8) because of its significance to our church. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
