The intention of UMNO in wanting to pursue a 'unity government'

with PAS is nothing less than an act of double-dealing and an

act of sham politics to the rest of us in Malaysia. UMNO is now
acting most deceitfully despite all the talk about democracy,
equality, supposedly shared values and the 1Malaysia concept.

In fact, UMNO is stabbing its other partners in the back and

doing it rather brazenly. It is also making a mockery of the
longstanding general democratic practice accepted here. It is
practising sham democracy instead. Would anyone accept that
colluding with a political party that is long known for strict
religious leanings part of genuine Malaysian democracy ?

Any political party that proclaims its support or allegiance

to Western-style democracy would never ignore the opinion of
the general public or its partners and allies to pursue ties
with a party dedicated to practising non-secular politics and
justify it in the name of 'race' and 'religion'. This surely
has nothing to do with 'democracy' at all.

PAS wants to adopt a religious state in the governing of the

country while the UMNO-led BN is committed to continuing the
current practice of secular politics whereby the non-Muslims
are not bound by Muslims laws.

Thus, the secret dealings and secret talks by UMNO is an act

of betrayal to its BN partners. It is thumping its nose at the
other allies in the BN. Moreover, UMNO is trying to flog the
politics of polarisation in the country.

The UMNO generals in Perak stole the power from the people
and in the process removed the PR government. If there is
any need to pursue a 'unity government', UMNO should talk
with the PR and not PAS. Perhaps UMNO is trying to kill 2
birds with one stone; Destroy the PR by sowing suspicion
within the group and at the same time, indicating to its
partners in the BN that UMNO by itself will dictate all the
policies and practices of government in this country.

UMNO cannot govern the country and promulgate policies based

solely or largely on religious or racial sentiments. To do
so would virtually amount to an act of stabbing its partners
in the BN and betraying democracy. It would also scare off
all the foreign investors who want to come here.

It would also confirm suspicions that UMNO has never wished

to part with the practice of promoting polarisation in the
country. Perhaps by playing the race card, UMNO could then be
assured of uninterrupted political supremacy. And permanent
political rule in the country. Election after election.

We are now living in the 21st century and we cannot anymore

accept the politics of religious or racial supremacism. PAS
is truly more like an anachronistic leftover from the past.
Surely in this day of modern political practices, UMNO would
not want to be associated with such a group.

Unless if UMNO still secretly harbours a desire to return to

the past. UMNO politicians still seem unable to see things
beyond the length of their arms. A lot of shallow and myopic
policies carried out by UMNO supposedly to help the majority
have caused great harm to society and created deep schisms in
the country. In the process, corruption was allowed to take a
firm hold on the nation and sow decay and rot on society.

PAS is only fit to huddle in isolated corners of the political

landscape in Malaysia but UMNO is trying to bring it to the
forefront. It is most despicable of certain UMNO politicians
to lash out at the PR for opposing the PAS politicians holding
secret talks for a 'unity government' with UMNO, PR's enemy.

Such a government is no unity government at all. More like a

'unity' of conniving and scheming politicians with a lot of
free time on their hands. And a lot of evil ideas inside their
heads as well. Evil ideas aimed at the minorities in Malaysia.

A unity government with PR would have made sense but one with
PAS would only be the result of bad intentions by UMNO. Today,
we are being shown that UMNO is a party that cannot be trusted
at all, not even by its fellow partners in the BN, never mind
the general public. The general public must be wary and must
never let go of their Bt Gantangs. Never. For all eternity.

UMNO is now full of mischief and treachery. Remember it. UMNO

is truly the enemy of all right-thinking people in Malaysia.
We must ALL oppose this kind of UMNO in our midst. We must
always oppose such treacherous politicians.
