Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a complete rapid transit system that combines many of the features of rail systems with the flexibility and cost savings of over-the-road vehicles. BRT consists of a range of components that communities may choose between to assemble the system that best meets their needs. The list below describes general BRT elements that could be included in final projects.
