Orthopaedic-Podiatry Triage Clinic Radiographer Abnormality Description Project Statewide roll out of clinics where podiatrist works to full scope to triage foot and ankle presentations. Completion of guidelines to allow other radiography services to implement a similar reporting model.

B. Advanced allied health practitioner and transprofessional practice models


Aged Care - internal medicine Aged Care community Acute Medical Services Explore and identify scope of advanced allied health role in medical assessment unit Explore and identify scope of advanced allied health practitioner role in a geriatrics clinic A two phase project will first explore transprofessional skills and shared competencies in the acute medical service. These will be mapped to patient needs and implemented. The second phase will investigate the advanced health practitioner role. The Calderdale framework will be used to explore transprofessional practice and development of an advanced allied health practitioner role in this clinic. C. Shared scope and delegated practice


Innovative ENT Care Paths Development of an audiology assistant model to redesign care paths for patients with hearing or ear related disorders. Use of the Calderdale framework to explore transprofessional practice and shared competencies in allied health services to Emergency Use transprofessional practice and shared competencies to develop a framework for rural generalist practice in allied health. Trial this framework in emergency, chronic disease, rural and remote settings. Project to identify and address barriers and enablers to an interdisciplinary post hospital nutrition care model

D. Allied health full scope practice


New Model of Care in Community Rehabilitation Services Allied Health staff will work to full scope to support self-management models for chronic conditions. Use of targeted multidisciplinary models for frail aged, subacute stroke, chronic stroke and progressive neurological conditions Trial of allied health screening and brief intervention service to decrease waiting list in general paediatrics Develop and trial model of orthoptist triage and streamline of referrals for patients with Strabismus and/or Amblyopia and reduce the wait for ophthalmologist outpatient clinics

Investigate moving occupational therapy resources from acute wards to community, and providing in-reach to wards, with addition of allied health assistant in one site

Pharmacy Assistant in Renal Unit Validate addition of pharmacy assistant to renal unit to maximise patient medication understanding and minimise waste of high cost medication Trial of allied health assistant role in functional improvement program Explore scope and role of allied health assistant in rural outreach incorporating use of telehealth

F. Extended Scope
Prescribing Botox for Adult Neurology clients Musculoskeletal pathway with prescribing Extended scope dietetic led gastroenterological clinic Develop a role for prescribing and administering Botox by occupational therapists and physiotherapists, including transprofessional practice Develop a pathway for musculoskeletal presentations including prescription and administration of antiinflammatory medication by physiotherapists Trial of a dietitian led outpatient clinic for triage of category 2 and 3 gastroenterology referrals to expedite appropriate referrals for consultant review.

G. Feasibility Studies
Paediatric Podiatry Virtual Foot Ulcer Emergency Services A Student Assisted Clinic for Child Development Clinic Study to determine feasibility of a statewide paediatric podiatry clinic Examine the feasibility of providing podiatry services in the Emergency Department for high-risk foot presentations Explore the feasibility of implementing the student clinic model already used in chronic diseases for a child development client population

Clinical Measurement Practitioner Pathway Project to develop a graduate program for the 4 major areas for clinical measurements sleep sciences, respiratory, cardiac and neurological services. Definition of graduate competencies. Project to trial and compare three methods of increasing intensity of speech pathology aphasia services Trial of supervision of licensed operators using telehealth
