By: Sean Augenstein NEWARK — Two juveniles were arrested and charged with the Thursday afternoon murder of an Irvington man, authorities said. Quivon Wilson, 23, was gunned down on the 200-block of Hobson Street around 4:15 p.m., said Anthony Ambrose, the Essex County Prosecutor’s chief of detectives. Wilson and the two juveniles were engaging in some kind of criminal activity together when the attack occurred, Ambrose said, without specifying the activity. An off-duty police detective was key in making the arrests, Ambrose said. Immediately after the gunfire, Det. Brian Logan of the Newark police helped identify and locate the two teens – and on-duty officers quickly tracked them down, the chief added. ―The prosecutor’s office credits the officer and the department with a quick response which led to the arrests,‖ Ambrose said. Weapons were recovered after the arrest of the two teens, Ambrose said. Both suspects were charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy, the chief

added. Both were taken to the Essex County Youth Facility. The prosecutor's office will review whether the pair should be charged as adults, authorities added. The homicide is the 65th in the city this year, authorities said. After reading this article, I have submitted my focus on five basic questions: The Who, What, When, Where, and Why.
