Symptoms and effects, acute and delayed
Potential health symptoms and effects
Eye: Redness. May cause mild eye irritation.
Skin: May cause mild skin irritation. Not expected to cause an allergic skin reaction.
A single prolonged skin exposure is not likely to result in the material being absorbed in harmful amounts.
Ingestion: May cause irritation of the digestive tract.
Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation. The toxicological properties of this substance have not been fully
investigated. May cause drowsiness, unconsciousness, and central nervous system depression. Vapors
may cause dizziness or suffocation.
Chronic: No information found.
Immediate medical attention and special treatment

Consult a physician. Treat symptomatically and supportively.
SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: For small fires, use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray or alcohol-resistant

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Extremely flammable liquid and vapor. Pay attention to flashback. Containers may explode in the heat of a fire.
Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors, can spread along the ground and collect in low or confined areas.
Vapors may form an explosive mixture with air. Vapors can travel to a source of ignition and flash back.
Hazardous combustion products: carbon monoxide carbon dioxide.
Special protective equipment and precautions for firefighters

As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, and full protective gear.
Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool.
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition.
Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations.
Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Environmental precautions
Shall not handle chemicals without emissions to the environment.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or earth), then place in suitable container.
Remove all sources of ignition. Use a spark-proof tool. A vapor suppressing foam may be used to reduce vapors.
Water spray may reduce vapor but may not prevent ignition in closed spaces.
Reference to other sections

See Section 7 for information on safe handling.
See Section 8 for information on personal protection equipment.
See Section 13 for information on disposal.
SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
Precautions for safe handling

Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only in a well-ventilated area.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.
Keep container tightly closed. Empty containers retain product residue, (liquid and/or vapor), and can be dangerous.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Ground and bond containers when transferring material.
Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose empty containers to heat, sparks or open flames.
Conditions for safe storage

Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep away from sources of ignition.
Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
SECTION 8 : EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Control parameters
Exposure limit values:
CAS# 616-38-6 No exposure limit values established by ACGIH, NIOSH, and OSHA.
Appropriate engineering controls

Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapors below their
respective threshold limit value. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are proximal to the work-station location.
Use adequate general or local explosion-proof ventilation to keep airborne levels to acceptable levels.
Individual protection measures - personal protective equipment
Eye/face protection: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye
and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166.
