Diabetes the Mother of all Diseases. Diabetes it happens in the body when body unable to produce sufficient insulin hormones to break down the ingested sugar. Insulin helps to regulate the blood sugar by converting it into energy. Thus due to insufficient amounts of insulin in the body, the sugar accumulates in the blood, leading to number of symptoms like unusual thirst, fatigue, loss of weight, excessive frequent urination and

many other complications. Yoga can effectively helps in curing the Diabetes.

Diabetes is a metabolic process that occurs when the body is unable to produce the hormone insulin which is necessary for converting sugar into energy. It also occurs when the body cannot use the insulin in the proper manner. The Organ pancreas is responsible for producing insulin. Hence diabetes occurs due to Non functioning of the pancreas. When we perform yoga, it effectively reduces adrenaline, noradrenalin in blood, which are stress hormones and this in turn helps in reducing glucagons and possibly improving insulin action. Some Asanas for Diabetes

Yogamudrasana and Mandukasana These yoga postures put pressure on the internal organs, particularly on the stomach and the pancreas and thereby stimulate their activity. Yogamudrasana is performed by sitting in Padmasana while Madukasana is practiced by sitting in Vajrasana. To treat diabetics and other diabetic related problems, Madukasana along with Yogamudrasana are more than enough.

Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half spinal twist) This asana massages the Kidneys, Pancreas, Small Intestines, Stomach, Gall Bladder and Liver, helping to stimulate digestion and squeeze out toxins. Useful for diabetics, with concentration on the pancreas. Increases the elasticity of the spine, tones the spinal nerves

Paschimottasana Good for Diabetics as it promote the functioning of the internal organs such as Kidneys, Pancreas, and the Liver. This is asana is a forward seated bend posture as is performed by placing head on knees and reaching to toes. For its beneficiary effect, it should be repeated two or three times.

Halasana (Plough pose)

It revitalizes Pancreas and Spleen and activates digestion by massaging all the internal organs. It improves kidney and liver functions and strengthens the abdominal muscles. It also rejuvenates the mind and regulates the thymus and thyroid gland.

Dhanurasana (Bow pose in prone position)

It gives the benefits of both Cobra Pose (Bhujangasan) and Locust Pose (Salabasana) as it is the combination of both the asanas. Organs like Liver, Pancreas, Enzyme producing organs will function actively due to this asana.

Vajrasana Yoga Mudra, It improves the digestion and is beneficial in cases of dyspepsia, constipation, colitis, seminal weakness and stiffness of the legs. It strengthens the hips, thighs, knees, calves, ankles and toes.

Sarvangasana Excellent for those suffering from digestive disorders. It is especially effective in improving the bodys metabolism It also boosts blood circulation and energy flow as well as strengths the nervous system.
