ABSTRACT

Endang P. Relations Principal Leadership and Organizational Culture Museum with Museum Employee Discipline Work Environment Directorate General of Culture. Thesis. Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Graduate Program. Dr. Hamka, 2012.

The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of leadership and organizational culture museum employee discipline within the Directorate General suevei culture method, using a questionnaire. The population is the entire museum employee who is a civil servant who totaled 91 people. Samples were taken with a random sampling technique by 74 people.

For the processing and analysis of data used histogram assistance with Microsoft Excel version 2003 for windows and tested: (1) normality test, (2) test of homogeneity, (3) F and t test, (4) hypothesis testing, (5) calculation of correlation and (6) look for the regression equation.

Linearity test results and significance of regression shows that there is a positive relationship between the leadership of the museum (X 1) with employee discipline (Y) of Y = 56.149 + 0.560 X 1. This equation means that each increase of one unit of museum leadership will increase 0.560 units of employee discipline with a constant 56, 149. The equation can be received correctly according t test analysis results, obtained t count equal to 7.012 and the t table is 1.99. This means that there is a positive relationship between the variables kepemimpinankepala museum employee with discipline for t count> t table, ie 7.012> 1.99. The coefficient of determination of 0.4058 40.58% of variance explained that employee discipline variables described / defined by variables museum leadership.

test results between the culture of the organization (X 2) with employee discipline (Y) of Y = 58.429 + 0.548 X 2. This equation means every one unit increase in the organization's culture will increase 0.548 units of employee discipline with constant 58.429. From the analysis of the t test, obtained t count> t table is 6.865> 1, 99 thus the coefficient of determination of 0.3956 explains that 39.56% of variance explained variabeldisiplin employee / organizational culture is determined by the variables.

At the end of multiple linear regression analysis Y on X 1 and X 2 yields the regression line equation Y = 43.590 + 0.348 + 0.324 X 1 X 2 with F test count equal to 33.56 while the F table is 3.13. This means that there is a positive relationship between leadership and organizational culture museum together with the disciplined employee.

By studying the above analysis, the study provides recommendations will improve discipline an employee, then the effort is to increase technical leadership museums and cultural organizations with rules and policies of the agency.
