Year 7 PHYSICAL EDUCATION In Year 7 the pupils experience introductory lessons throughout the year in five areas of activity;

Outwitting an opponent (Football, Basketball, Hockey, Handball, Striking & Fielding, Tennis/Badminton, Rugby (Boys only), Netball (Girls only). Accurate replication (Gymnastics and Trampolining) , Exploring & communicating ideas (Dance), Performing at maximal levels (Athletics) and Identifying & solving problems (OAA). Throughout these activities pupils are taught the core components and skills that can be used. Pupils are assessed on the following aspects: Developing skills, Making & applying decisions, Developing physical & mental capacity, Evaluating & improving and Making informed choices about healthy, active lifestyles. Pupils are expected to remove all jewellery for every PE lesson. Pupils are expected to have the correct PE kit for every lesson. If pupils have an injury then they will not physically take part in the lesson but they will be expected to change and adopt the role of a coach or referee.

Year 8 PHYSICAL EDUCATION In Year 8 the pupils experience lessons throughout the year in four areas of activity; Outwitting an opponent (Football, Basketball, Cricket, Hockey, Handball, Netball (girls only), Rounders, Rugby (boys only) and Tennis. Accurate replication (Gymnastics and Trampolining), Exploring & communicating ideas (Dance), Performing at maximal levels (Athletics). Pupils are assessed on the following aspects: Developing skills; Making & applying decisions, Developing physical & mental capacity, Evaluating & improving and Making informed choices about healthy, active lifestyles.
