MOBI BASICS:
1) Overview: a. On/off switch (big blue button) b. Charging (~10 hr battery) USB charger; may also use other universal adapters; *make sure pen is inserted when charging c. Soft keys on MOBI d. LCD screen 2) Loading software: a. First load the Workspace software onto the computer. Then load Content. b. Select gallery icon on toolbar c. Select Build Gallery Database gallery will be populated with items from Content disk 3) Connection RF frequency (plug-n-play) a. For the first time, you need to follow the following steps: i. Remove RF receiver from back of MOBI and plug into USB. Turn on Mobi. ii. Push blue button on receiver (it will begin to flash), then push blue button on back on MOBI (flashing should stop when connected) iii. Next, right click on eInstruction tools icon in tray and select eInstruction device manager. iv. Then go to options and select discover devices it should show MOBI in device manager screen with a green check v. On future uses, just plug in RF receiver and the MOBI should automatically connect (you can always do blue button routine) 4) Using the MOBI to control your computer a. Hover over surface of pad to move curser (acts like a magnet) b. Utilize pen clicker (down=double left click, up = right click) c. Drag items hold down pen on pad and move object 5) Using the tools: a. Soft keys on the pad touch keys to open tool b. Floating toolbar move curser over icon and touch pad to open

FORMAT TOOLBAR (MY RECOMMENDATION ) 1) Go to menu on the toolbar, select preferences, select toolbar settings, select Barrel and also 40x40 button size 2) To customize toolbar go to menu on the toolbar, select preferences, select customize toolbar from here teachers can select available tools and drag into either Main toolbar or into the Toolbox. They may then save scheme under their own name. Other features may be changed under preferences (new page set up, etc)

Overview of Toolbar: 2 modes Lesson Mode: Create pages utilizing Workspace Office Mode: Utilize integration with Microsoft Office; insert annotations directly into Microsoft products

Brief description of basic tools


* Minimize Floating Toolbar- can be moved or minimized * Workspace Menu Use to save, open, send to PDF, customize preferences, etc.

* Mouse Icon toggle back and forth between desktop and Workspace *S elect tool (arrow) use to select items on page, move items, resize items

* Workspace Writing Tools access pens, highlighter tools , freehand text , eraser * Create new page- select new page or graph paper

* green arrows move back/ forward between pages * Utilize Curtain and S potlight feature to hide / reveal object or notes

* Use the Content Gallery & Create Image Pages -drag and drop from gallery to add to page, select create image pages to format a new background image page to create new background for instruction * Capture Tool capture images from web, etc (check box to place in new page) * Toolbox gives you access to other tools not found on floating toolbar * Add text * Add shapes * Page sorter- review all pages in lesson rearrange pages or delete pages
