After the Fox Hounds were decontaminated and vaccinated for the flu virus, Minister Of Intelligence Quintas Allard offered them a mission working in the Outworlds alliance against the Oberon Confederation, the primary objective being the defense of KinKaid II. Upon arriving in the system Foa received yet another short distress call from the same source upon which he persuaded the rest of the Fox Hounds and the crew of the drop ship do do a quick stop off on Kinkaid III to rescue his associate with the promise of 'it's worth it' and mumblings of 'Never again.' The Lucky 7 drop ship landed in a clearing some distance from where the distress call originated, unable to land closer due to mountains terrain and high winds. Upon arrival (image 2) the Fox Hounds deployed 4 mechs: Lishka in the Clint, Ranger in the Javelin, Domino in the Panther and Foa in his Valkyrie along with Boxer as a passenger. On the mountain, a lance of pirate mech (image 1 ) were spotted attack several buildings, when the Fox Hounds deployed they broke off their attack and came for the Fox Hounds. Two Locusts and a Cicada raced down the mountain track whilst a Phoenix Hawk rose into the air on a flare of jump jets. Ranger and Lishka immediately went for the low hill while Foa and Dom moved up the centre of the valley toward a grain silo. Foa unleashed a swarm of LRMs to greet the Phoenix Hawk. They struck in a concentrated burst and blasted the armour from the left torso. One of the Locusts ran round trying to flank but met Ranger and Lishka where they duelled it out. The pilot of the Locust was having none of it, dodging wildly and broke through relatively unscathed. Meanwhile, the three other pirates crossed the river and whilst laying down covering fire closed in to concentrate on Dom. After trading shots and searing armour, none of the pilots came out on top and the Cicada and Locust broke off, leaving the Phoenix Hawk and Dom duelling it out around and on top of a grain silo. After not much luck against the Panther, the lights decided to try concentrating on Lishka who had been sniping from the nearby woods. As they closed in Lishka managed to dodge most of their shots. Unbeknownst to them Ranger, closed in from behind unleashing a volly of SRMs at one of the Locusts. Again, it managed to evade, dodging most of them but didn't manage to dodge his devastating physical attack which left the Locust minus an arm. It was at this point the pirates noticed that Foa had been making his way across one

of the peaks towards the target buildings (while also laying volley after volley of LRM cover fire). The Cicada broke off its attack to try and head him off before he could get across the valley floor, Ranger in tow. At this point Dom and the P-hawk engaged in physical combat (image 5) where Dom comes out worse, nearly losing a leg and leapt off the silo launching SRMs on the way. The P-Hawk also broke off towards the hills at which point Ranger took a pot shot at it and Lishka managed to snipe off its large laser from her vantage point in the forest. The Locust closes on Lishka as well but is unable to do any significant damage but taking a large laser to the leg causing it to run after easier prey. (image 3) On the other mountainside the Cicada attacked Foa who ignored it and continued to launch LRMs into the P-hawk, keeping it back. The Locust moved across the valley floor to back up the cicada but found Ranger dogging him every step of the way. At this point Dom ignores the almost ineffective from the P-hawk and combined with sniper fire from Lishka and SRM volleys from Ranger blows the leg off the locust ending the pirates hopes of getting out alive. (image 9) By this point Foa has reached his objective still with the Cicada in tow. The P-hawk makes a break across the valley floor to try and stop him getting there at which point Dom lets loose with a PPC blast that melts most of his centre torso armour. At this point Foa exits his machine letting Boxer take over. As this happens the Hangar doors open on the objective building and seconds later, Foa exits the building but this time in a new but unfamiliar mech. At this point Ranger runs up and unleashes a fury on SRMs and punches at the Cicada blowing out the giros, which along with a flight of LRMs from Boxer taking out its foot causes it to go down. By now the P-hawk pilot is seeing a losing battle and starts to withdraw but not before Lishka, Boxer and Foa unleash concentrated fire which leaves him damaged so badly that he barely makes it off the field alive. From their rather silent friend Foa they find that the mech he has is his family Firefly an ancient heirloom which he and his tech have been restoring for the past five years. Along with a damaged Locust and a Cicada, the mystery side trip 'for a friend' turned out to be quite profitable for the Fox Hounds! Now they just have to finish the original mission.
