Version 08.09.03.xx Supported Windows Vista Operating Windows Vista x64 Systems Windows XP Professional (SP2 or later) Windows XP Professional x64 Windows XP Home Edition (SP2 or later) Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Windows 2000 Professional (SP3 or later) Windows 2000 Server Windows Server 2003 (SP1 or later) Windows Server 2003 x64 (Windows NT, Windows 9x series are not supported) Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0 or later with 128-bit cipher strength These are the same operating systems that MicroStation V8 XM Edition supports.

MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.03.xx must be run before the installation of MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.03.xx or any of the v08.09.03.xx releases of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition derivative products (Bentley View XM Edition, Bentley Redline XM Edition, ProjectWise Navigator V8 XM Edition, or MicroStation PowerDraft XM Edition). It is merely an installation sequence of various Microsoft packages that must be in place before MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.03.xx or its derivative products will install and run correctly. Important Note: MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.03.xx needs to be installed prior to the installation of the v08.09.03 releases of MicroStation V8 XM Edition or any of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition derivative products even if MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.00.xx was previously installed to the same workstation. MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack ReadMe

The MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack requires a minimum of 400MB to install all of its components. Please note that Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0 or later with 128-bit cipher strength needs to be installed to your workstation prior to the installation of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack. Important Note: It is highly recommended that you close any programs and disable any antivirus software that is running prior to the installation of this software. Be sure to turn your antivirus software back on again when you are finished.

To install this software

1. In an Explorer window, click Setup Prerequisites 08.09.03.xx_xx.exe. The MicroStation Prerequisites dialog opens prompting you to Install or Cancel. 2. Click Install. The MicroStation Prerequisites install to your system. When finished, a dialog appears telling you that the installation is complete 3. Click OK. You now have the appropriate prerequisites installed to run MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.03.xx.

Error 4121 or recurring .NET 2 reboot requests on Windows 2000

Installing the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack on a workstation with Windows 2000 (SP3 or 4) may result in error 4121 occurring or may result in recurring reboot requests when Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is being installed. If you encounter either of these situations, please perform one of the operations below: If you have an Internet connection: 1. Run the Windows Installer Update from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803 2. Re-execute the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack. If you do not have an Internet connection: 1. Extract the contents of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack into a temporary folder using the following command:

(In this case, the contents are extracted to C:\PreReq080309.) 2. Execute the Windows Installer 3.1 upgrade package from the temporary folder you just created.

3. Reboot if required 4. Re-execute the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack. 5. Delete the temporary folder "C:\PreReq080309"
