HoudiniEsq Fact Sheet HoudiniEsq was launched in 2008.

The product currently has over 6,500 independent law firms that use the product every day. They have over 8,000 registrants and about 6,500 have fully licensed the product since 2008. Product: The product is currently deployed in thousands of law firms and government agencies worldwide. Some of these organizations require as little as 10 concurrent users while others require as many 1,200. HoudiniEsq is not a web page or web portal wrapped around an antiquated product nearing its end of life, but a proven cutting edge product built from the ground up to run entirely in a web browser that is easy to deploy, maintain, and support. There is no end-user workstation software required by our product, just a web browser. There is no separate desktop software for managing, configuring, reporting, or maintaining the product whatsoever. HoudiniEsq is intuitive, secure, scalable, reliable, efficient, customizable, extensible, cost-effective, and accessible from Windows, Mac, and optionally, mobile devices. Although browser based, the product has equivalent features found in very expensive high end desktop only products, including full text indexing, document management, ad-hoc customizability, supports multiple workspaces, tight integration with office products, and work flow automation capabilities. HoudiniEsq is a product an organization will not outgrow. We are the experts in web based practice management. The product was developed by the principal engineer and architect of the award winning Time Matters WorldServer product acquired by LexisNexis in 2004. WorldServer was the first 100% web based legal practice management system developed for the industry. Architecture: HoudiniEsq stands alone in the industry as a proven true enterprise class product that scales vertically as well as horizontally. The memory footprint is small and efficient. The product is fault tolerant, transaction-protected, crash-recoverable, and stateless, allowing a user to continue where they left off should a connection be lost or broken and re-established. The product is deployed onto one or more host machines either running OSX, Linux, Windows, or a combination thereof. Virtualization is supported on Windows and Linux but is not required for a performant resilient installation. The product runs as a service in the background requiring little or no maintenance and can be stopped and started easily by an administrator of the host machine. The product installation is self-contained, is easily backed up, and can be

effortlessly moved from one host machine to another should the need ever arise. There is nothing to install onto the end- users desktop. All upgrades are applied to the host machines solely, never the client desktops. All that is required by the end-user is a web-browser. HoudiniEsq is 100% turnkey. There is no other software required with the exception of a DBMS such as MS SQL or Oracle if the default scalable performant Oracle DBMS isnt desired. A typical mid-scale deployment (under 500 concurrent users) would consist of single host machine with 32 processors (8 quad cores) and 64gb of memory. A DBMS host machine configured Raid-10 (mirrored and striped) minimum. This configuration is more than adequate for most organizations. For added fault tolerance additional host machines running HoudiniEsq can be deployed and a load balancer installed either to distribute load across all HoudiniEsq host machines or act as a fault router. This configuration adds some cost and complexity and isnt typically required to have a performant resilient installation of HoudiniEsq under 500 concurrent users. A typical large scale deployment (over 500 concurrent users) would consist of more than one host machine that will run HoudiniEsq, a DBMS host machine configured Raid-10 (mirrored and striped) minimum, and a load balancer. The DBMS can optionally be mirrored for additional fault tolerance but isnt typically needed in a Raid 10 configuration. HoudiniEsq can be deployed to an additional host machine or several depending on the number of concurrent users and fault tolerance desired. The HoudiniEsq product line includes an instance deployer which can be purchased separately enabling an administrator to deploy and launch a new instance of HoudiniEsq to a virtual or physical server from anywhere within 60 seconds. Our experience and success as a leading Legal Cloud vendor demonstrates our experience and expertise in large scale legal practice management design, deployment, and support. HoudiniEsq is platform independent, and can be accessed on any modern operating system, including Windows, Linux and Mac. The core of the product consists of several tiers. 1. Visualization: responsible for the graphical user interface, 2. Business: responsible for all business logic, 3. Policy Enforcement: responsible for managing of user access and access control permissions, 4. Document Repository: responsible for the management and indexing of generated documents as well as documents uploaded into the system, 5. Reporting: responsible for the display and generations of reports, 6. Database: SQL92-compliant relational database management system. HoudiniEsq at its core provides the following:

Availability - The assurance that a service/resource is always accessible.

Scalability - The ability to support the required quality of service as the load increases. Reliability - The assurance of the integrity and consistency of the application and all of its transactions. This exceptional service level is based on the close coordination of hardware, networking, operating system, storage subsystem, application framework, and application software. Security - The ability to allow access to application functions and data to some users and deny access to other users. Interoperability - The ability of the system to share data with external systems and interface with external systems. Maintainability - The ability to correct flaws in the existing functionality without impacting other components/systems. Extensibility - The ability to add/modify functionality without impacting existing functionality. Manageability - The ability to manage the system in order to ensure its continued health with respect to scalability, reliability, availability, performance, and security. Portability - The ability of the software to run on a variety of hardware and operating system configurations. Accessibility - the ability to access system functions through different user agents and in different human languages.

Unlike most legal products available today, HoudiniEsq was designed from the ground up to be 100% web based, scalable, easy to maintain and upgrade. There is no enduser workstation software required by our product, just a modern web browser. There is no separate desktop software for managing, configuring, reporting, or maintaining the product.
