Five Interview Questions

List at least five interview questions for your required interview for Assignment One. Keep in mind that you want to ask questions which will allow for rich answers; you don't want to have to work with one word answers. Consider the following templates as a model for how to construct your interview. These are to help you with the phrasing of your questions. Tell me about... Explain how... Why are... If you could do "x", then...

How has football and more importantly tailgating affected your social interactions? How do you feel items such as alcohol, food, and tailgate games play a role in interactions? What aspects of tailgates bring you to them and why? What is your overall outlook on tailgating in terms of a school function? What is the stereotype of tailgating versus what it actually means to you? Straubs Article After having read Straub's article, respond to the following: Describe your previous experiences with workshopping. If you have never had a peer workshop session, discuss teacher feedback (both good and bad--essentially what has worked and what hasn't worked). Articulate the difference between editing and revision. At what stage of the writing process do you edit vs. revise? Is it necessary to do both, and defend your position. What are some concerns you have about peer workshopping? Describe at least two suggestions and cite* from Straub's article, explaining the strategy he suggests and how you see yourself implementing it during our workshops in class.

*When parenthetically citing from Straub's article, be sure to use the appropriate citation style for your major. Remember you can consult the UNCC library homepage under "Research and Course Help" and select "Citation Tools." In my previous experiences working in workshops was never really beneficial. As stated in the article I feel as though everyone just tried to get by and do the bare minimum that was required. However, in the same degree there was a few helpful comments here and there but not to the level to progress myself as a writer. And more- I find that marginal comments as well as post at the end of the paper from my teachers were more beneficial. The marginal comments allow me to directly see the issue where the end of the paper allows a place for more indepth lager focused ideas that require more attention. I believe that editing is simply making small changes such as grammar, spelling, lose thoughts etc. However revision is fully changing your idea or statement. I feel both are necessary because you may have portions of your work that merely only needs grammatical help, where as some areas need to be completely reconstructed. My biggest concern for peer workshop is I do dislike peers reading my work. Its nothing personal against them I'm just a more hidden writer in that I dont like to have very many people critique me.

"Don't be stingy. Write most of your comments out in full sentences."(140) I feel this is a usefull comment to remember because I personally dislike when teachers and/or peers comment but I cant understand what it is they want me to do exactly. "Challenge yourself to write as many praise comments as criticisms." I also felt this was necessary because if you to harshly critisize someones work they will become closed of from what youre trying to say where as if you keep it level headed the writer doesnt feel persecuated.
