Harvest Festival a Great Success!

The food was great the fellowship was vibrant the funds raised (in excess of $5,000) were plentiful and the people who attended felt the love of our great God! Can Food Drive Begins this Sunday!

Beginning this Sunday, November 17 and continuing until December 8 we will be collecting can foods to be distributed by Allied Churches of Alamance County.

Last month Michael and Sharon Turner lost their lives in a motorcycle accident. They left behind two children who are now in the care of a grandmother. Hannah Rich and others in the school system are seeking funds to help raise money for the children. This Sunday, November 17 and again on November 24 we welcome your love offering.

Get Lost in the Greatness of Our God!
Creation speaks consistently of the greatness of our God the rising and setting of the sun the tides of the oceans the seasons of the year the planets rotations in the universe etc. These expressions of Gods greatness are unchanging He does not waver in expressing Himself in the world. We live in a world where choices and consequences are lived out every day. The chaos that comes with life here on earth is uncertain and subject to change frequently. The effects of life can be very challenging and threaten to overtake us. But the cross of Calvary, which is the greatest symbol of Gods love, connects the uncertainty of life with the unchanging nature God. Jesus, Gods only Son, turned the world upside down by dying the death of a criminal having done no wrong. Jesus took the worse that the world could do and turned it into a path of salvation for all who believe. The cross not only connects us, but also gives us the certainty of eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him will have eternal life. (John 3:16) Keep looking up and get lost in the greatness of our God. Frances Woody (708 Kidd Drive Burlington NC 27217) Frances continues to make good progress in therapy. Becky Corbett 712 Jeffries Cross Rd. Burlington NC 27217 (421-9416) Becky is doing betterrelieved from much of the pain and discomfort. John and Janet Hughes 814 Scott Street Burlington NC 27217 (227-7252) Janet is recovering well in the wake of recent sickness-but grieving the passing of her niece, Deborah Popham. Joe Walters (C/O Blakey Hall 501 Blakey Hall Lane Elon NC 27244) Joe is continuing in therapy.

Let the Christmas Celebration Begin!

The Church Leadership Team (CLT) has been working to lay the groundwork for a great Christmas Season here at Faith Christian Church! The embrace of new life is finding expression in our congregation and we believe the coming season will be a great launch pad into the coming new year. Listed below are some highlightsmore information is coming soon. Bring Your Christmas Cards For Families in the Congregation! Beginning this Sunday, November 17 we will have bags labeled for each family/household on display in alphabetical order. Sort your cards in the bags until Sunday, December 8, 2013. Our Christmas Family Luncheon On Sunday, December 8th, immediately following worship we will have a covered dish lunch here at The Venue. Christmas treats for each household will be provided. Poinsettias for the Season We have 25 poinsettias you can put in honor or in memory of a loved one, beginning on December 8 and remaining here at The Venue until December 22. The cost and order envelopes will be on display Sunday. Lets Get The Word Out!! Good news becomes great news when it is shared! This is particularly true of the Christmas season as we proclaim again the birth of Jesus Christ. This Sunday there will be printed invitations for you to use in inviting others to Faith Christian Church. Be in prayer and believe God is already preparing the hearts of those whom He directs you to invite.
