Fantasy Flight Publishing, Inc. seeks a qualied individual to ll the full-time role of Fiction Editor at our headquarters in Roseville, Minnesota.

Candidate Requirements
A qualied applicant will have the following strengths: A bachelors degree or the equivalent in a eld of study such as English, creative writing, or communication. At least three years of editing and proofreading experience. Strong organization skills. The ability to quickly, accurately, and consistently proofread manuscripts. Familiarity of with The Chicago Manual of Style. Experience with general ofce software such as Microsoft Ofce, Apple iWorks, or Open Ofce.

Job Description
The Fiction Editor is a key position for supporting Fantasy Flight Publishings growing line of novels and novellas. The Fiction Editors role will entail the following: Manuscript editing Edit manuscripts for style, content, and clarity. Work with the authors of those manuscripts to achieve works of ction that are entertaining, of high quality, and within the guidelines established for the writing. Book layout Flow edited text into a nished layout using templates provided by graphic designers to create pleasing, professional presentations. Proofreading Proofread works for correctness, including proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. Progress tracking of multiple assigned projects Manage the status and progress of all assigned active projects. Take ownership of every stage of every assigned project. Quality control Responsible for his or her products meeting the physical, visual, and emotional quality experience that Fantasy Flight Publishing seeks to provide its customers. Budget and deadline management Ensure that budgets for assigned projects are within FFGs specications, and that sufcient benchmarks and checks are in place so that both projects and budgets meet planned deadlines. Regularly update budgets and project timelines to reect the current status of projects, and work with management to build enough exibility into both to account for inevitable problems and setbacks. Author and freelance vendor management Work with management to maintain good communication and positive working relationships with outside authors, artists, and freelance designers. Partnership relation management Fantasy Flight Publishing, Inc. works with a great number of valued partners around the world, including licensors and international distribution/production partners. The Fiction Editor will assist management in maintaining good communication and overall excellent relationships with these partners. Inter-department communication and workow Maintain good and frequent communication with other departments including: art, graphic design, production, marketing, and sales. Adhere to company procedures and policies for efcient and high-quality product development, and work with management to improve them over time.

Additionally, experience with any of the following software is considered a plus: Adobe InDesign Adobe Acrobat Pro Filemaker Pro Mac OSX

The base salary for this associate position is in line with hobby game industry standards and may be adjusted upwards based on experience.
