"he boiler 1enerates hi1h pressure steam by transferrin1 the heat of (ombustion in 0arious heat transfer sections3 # boiler incorporates a firebo> or furnace in order to burn the fuel and 1enerate heat3 "he 1enerated heat is transferred to water to ma e steam5 the process of boilin13 "his produces saturated steam at a rate5 which can 0ary accordin1 to the pressure abo0e the boilin1 water3 "he hi1her the furnace temperature5 the faster the steam production3 "he saturated steam thus produced can then either be used immediately to produce power 0ia a turbine and alternator5 or else may be further superheated to a hi1her temperatureL this notably reduces suspended water content ma in1 a 1i0en 0olume of steam produce more wor 3 #ny remainin1 heat in the combustion can then either be e0acuated or made to pass throu1h an economi=er5 the role of which is to warm the feed water before it reaches the boiler3
