Parklands Memorial Reforestation Program
The Parklands Foundation offers a unique memorial program to honor and remember your friends and family. The Parklands Memorial Reforestation Program allows an individual to contribute towards
the ongoing reforestation of the Charleston County Parks. Donations allow for the periodic planting of a variety of trees in the county park system. Plantings are not designated with signage or plaques.
Donors have the opportunity to honor the birth of a child or express sympathy upon the death of friends or relatives. For each memorial contribution, a card representing the occasion is mailed to notify
the recipient family of the gift.
o I would like to make a memorial donation in support of reforestation of the Charleston County park system.

Master Naturalist
CCPRC and Clemson University are offering the Certified
Master Naturalist program for people interested in
understanding and protecting the state's valuable natural
resources. Master Naturalist (MN) candidates complete
a 13-day field study course led by a variety of experts
in some of the state’s most beautiful natural areas as
they learn and practice skills naturalists use to “read” the
natural world. The MN program develops volunteer citizen
scientists, conservationists, and educators who can positively
impact the natural resources of the state. Please note the
first meeting will be held on Sep 1 from 6:00pm-8:30pm,
rather than the subsequent all day meeting times from Sep
8-Dec 1. A more detailed schedule and information will be
provided on Sep 1.

ACA Coastal Kayaking in Tidal Currents
Learn the basic techniques for paddling in areas subject to tidal current,
including entering and exiting eddies, ferrying across currents, and
techniques for surfing standing waves. During these exercises, we will
be grouped together in a calm eddy where kayakers can rest alongside
the fast-moving tide rip. This is your chance to push the envelope with
dependable backup. There is always the possibility of capsizing when
practicing in rougher water, so be prepared to utilize some self and
assisted rescue skills.
