The Psychology Behind Superhero Origin Stories Summary (150 to 300 words) In the article The Psychology Behind Superhero Origin Stories, the author, Robin Rosenberg thinks that we can become heroes and not super heroes, choosing to help others instead of be selfish and that is that origin stories show us. The idea of a hero fighting against supernatural forces and come back home to help people is shared by the superhero origin stories. The author finds in his investigations that there are three types of experiences that can change superheroes and we are connected. First trauma, for instance, in Batman origin, he experiment the loss of his parents and this event make him fight against the bad boys. Second destiny, like in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she has to accept his destiny and grows up soon. The last sheer chance, which a tragic event makes to change the bad way and find the good one, for example in Spiderman. All this experiences have a similar effect in our life making us to help others, grow up earlier or change how we are living into a better life. In conclusion superhero origin stories inspire us and give us ideas of how to deal successfully with difficult experiences and, although comic book writers does not write origin to all their stories in one way or another they translate their observations about human nature into great stories that later researchers confirm.

Personal Opinion (Min. 50 words for 150-word summaries | Min. 100 words for 300-word summaries) In my opinion, I do not find superhero stories inspiring I find them entertainments. When I used to watch them I liked their adventures and the power that each new superhero had, maybe I felt identified with some values that they have like justice and fight against who is doing damage to someone but that is all. One of my favorites was Spiderman, he is clever and strong.
