Hampi and Anegundi (Kingdom of Kishkinda), Karnataka, India

HAMPI is a village in northern Karnataka state, a southwestern province of India. It is located within the ruins of Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. The ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, listed as the Group of Monuments at Hampi. Hampi is well worth to visit. The area is simply stunning and you will be in awe of the millions of boulders surrounding the area. Sailing on a small local made boat to see the ruins of many temples and Vijaya nagar kindom is a wonderful experience. However, within this arid landscape lies a little oasis with lush palm, banana, and mango trees nestled near the river. Hampi is a great place to spend a few days wandering around and discovering the rich, vibrant history while also having a bit of 'your' time. Places to visit in Hampi
