Phoenix, AZ, United States, December 23, 2013 -- The primary hospital for the or thopedic surgeons at OrthoArizona - Arizona Orthopaedic Associates, OASIS Hospit al, is the first medical institute in the state of Arizona to join the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR), a national collection of data and research on joint replacement and patient and physician information. The AJRR is an independent, nonprofit database designed to store joint replaceme nt surgery data from procedures performed at participating hospitals and medical centers with membership from around the country. Information included in the database is used to monitor patients' artificial joint s throughout their lifetime and is based on the patients, their surgeons and the hospitals where the procedures took place. Surgeons and patients benefit from the database because it allows information ab out procedures and devices to be accessed for reference. Doctors who are part of the system are able to use reference materials to make the most informed recomm endations to their patients. We feel privileged to be a part of the American Joint Replacement Registry, said D avid M.
