Traditional Sweat - A sweat ceremony is a traditional practice of the Aboriginal people, and is used to detoxify and cleanse oneself whether you choose to cleanse for reasons that are spiritual, psychological, physical, emotional or all of the above. There are 4 rounds to a sweat and during each one, hot rocks are added to the fire in order to maintain the atmosphere, while prayers are conducted by an elder. A Sweat can be used as a tool for personal growth, and help to open spiritual doors for a person. Individuals may choose to leave at any time if the Sweat environment becomes too much for them. There will be a small feast afterwards to replenish nutrients lost by participants. A Sweat is an enjoyable experience and will be experienced differently for each individual. Participants are to meet at WorkPrep; transportation to the Paul Dojack Youth Centre will be provided. Envisioning Your Future Self - In this workshop, we will imagine our best selves, ways of getting to that ideal, what it will look like when we arrive, and who inspires us to accomplish our goals.
