Crochet Pattern: Lil Agnes (Despicable Me)

Who can resist this adorable girl from Despicable Me? I know many of you have been anticipating for this day to come and waiting for this pattern to be released. The day is finally here! There were many new followers and friends on my tumblr and facebook page despite my absence for the past month. I could never thank you enough for being so supportive and embark this journey with us. Now is your chance to make your very own Lil Agnes and turn her into a squeeshy amigurumi plush toy. Lil Agnes is approximately 18cm tall, 24cm including the hair. She will make an amazing handmade gift for all Agnes lovers. Before we begin, you might want to click Here to read the story behind this creation and how I piece this creation together. Materials: Yarn(s) - Beige, Yellow, Grey, Blue, Black, Small amount of White and Red 8ply Acrylic Yarn. Crochet Hooks - Size 3.0mm and 3.5mm Yarn Needle Tapestry Needle White Tapestry Thread Fiberfill 1 pair of 13mm Safety Eyes. Small amount of White and Red Felt. Fabric Glue. Stitch Marker or Safety Pin Note: 1. This pattern works in continuous rounds (instead of joined rounds).

Head and Body: Beige, Grey and Yellow Yarn, 3.0mm Hook. Starting with Beige Yarn. Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18) Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (24) Rnd 5: *sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (30) Rnd 6: *sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (36) Rnd 7: *2 sc in next sc, sc 5*, repeat around. (42) Rnd 8: *2 sc in next sc, sc 6*, repeat around. (48) Rnd 9: *2 sc in next sc, sc 7*, repeat around. (54) Rnd 10-19: sc around. (54) Cut out 2 round pieces of white felt slightly bigger than the 13mm eyes. Glue the white felt onto the 13mm eyes. Rnd 42: *dec 1, sc 1*, repeat around. (12) Add on fiberfill to stuff entire head and body. Rnd 43: *dec 1*, repeat around. (6) F/O, leave a long end and weave it in and out to close up the hole.

Jumper (Overall): Blue Yarn, 3.5mm Hook. Ch 37. - sc start from 1st ch. Rnd 1-9: sc around. (36) Start of right jumper leg hole. Rnd 10: sc 18 times. (18) Continue on 1st sc on Rnd 10. Rnd 11-12: sc around. (18) F/O and weave in the remaining yarn. Start of left jumper leg hole. Rnd 10: sc 19 times. (19) Last sc onto the inner crotch area. Continue on 1st sc on Rnd 10. Rnd 11: sc 17, dec 1. (18) Rnd 12: sc around. (18) F/O and weave in the remaining yarn. Jumper Top piece and Strap: Blue Yarn, 3.5mm Hook. Start of jumpers front piece.

Continue on Rnd 1 of Jumper (Overall). Row 1-2: sc 10, Ch 1 and turn. (10) Row 3: sc 10. (10) Start of jumper strap. Ch approximately 10 to 12 stitches. F/O and cut off yarn. Start of jumpers back piece. Count 9 stitches from jumpers front piece and start Row 1. Row 1-2: sc 10, Ch 1 and turn. (10) Row 3: sc 10. (10) Start of jumper strap. Ch approximately 10 to 12 stitches. F/O and cut off yarn. Secure the front strap to top of jumpers back piece and secure the back strap to jumpers front piece. Jumpers Pocket: Blue Yarn, 3.5mm Hook. Ch 7. Row 1-2: sc 6, Ch 1 and turn. (6) Row 3: dec 1, sc 2, dec 1. (4) sc around the pocket. F/O and weave in the remaining yarn.

Hair: Black Yarn, 3.0mm Hook. Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18) Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (24) Rnd 5: *sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (30) Rnd 6: *sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (36) Rnd 7: *2 sc in next sc, sc 5*, repeat around. Ears: (make 2) Beige Yarn, 3.0mm Hook. Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2-3: sc around. (6) F/O and leave long end for sewing to the head. Press flat and do not stuff. Nose: Beige Yarn, 3.0mm Hook. Rnd 1: MR, sc 4 in MR. (4) Rnd 2: sc around. (4) F/O and leave long end for sewing to the face. Arms: (make 2) Yellow, Grey and Beige Yarn, 3.0mm Hook. Starting with Beige Yarn. Rnd 1: MR, sc 5 in MR. (5) Rnd 2: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (7) Rnd 3-9: sc around. (7) Change to Yellow Yarn. Rnd 10: sc on outer loops only for Rnd 10. *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (9) Rnd 11: sc around. (9) Change to Grey Yarn. Rnd 12: sc around. (9) Change to Yellow Yarn. Rnd 13-14: sc around. (9) Rnd 15: *dec 1, sc 1*, repeat around. (6) F/O, leave a long end and weave it in and out to close up the hole. Legs: (make 2) White, Yellow and Beige Yarn, 3.0mm Hook.

Starting with Beige Yarn. Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3-6: sc around. (12) Change to Yellow Yarn. Rnd 7-8: sc around. (12) Change to White Yarn. Rnd 9: sc around. (12) Rnd 10: sc 3, 2 sc in next sc 6 times, sc 3. (18) Rnd 11-12: sc around. (18) Stuff with fiberfill. Rnd 13: *dec 1, sc 1*, repeat around. (12) Add on fiberfill to stuff the entire leg. Rnd 14: *dec 1*, repeat around. (6) F/O, leave a long end and weave it in and out to close up the hole.

Pony Tail: (make 12 strands) Black Yarn, 3.0mm Hook. Ch 10. Refer to picture above: Secure and tie all the individual strands to the center area of the hair. Scrunchy: Red Yarn. 3.0mm Hook. Ch 12 and turn. Row 1: sc 11 across. (11)

F/O, weave in remaining yarn. Sew the red scrunchy onto the pony tail and hair.

Assembling: (Refer to pictures) Sew the legs to the jumper as shown in the picture above. Sew the pocket onto the front jumper. Sew the hair on the head. Sew the ears to each side of the head. Sew the arms to each side of the body. Sew the jumper to the body.

Using black yarn and yarn needle, sew on the eyebrows in between Rnd 15 and Rnd 16 about 6 stitches apart.

Use a small piece of red felt, cut 2 small circles and glue on the jumper.

Sew the nose after Rnd 19 and before Rnd 22. Lastly, give Lil Agnes rosy cheeks by using some pink blusher or pink fabric marker to colour the cheeks.
