The Introductory Rites


The Introductory Rites help the faithful come together as one, establish communion and prepare themselves to listen to the Word of God and to celebrate the Eucharist worthily. All stand. The Priest approaches the altar with the ministers and venerates it while the Entrance Song is sung. Sign of the Cross All make the Sign of the Cross as the Priest says: Bp aur Bee aur Rhul Quds ke nm men mn. Greeting Hamre Khudwand Yis Mash k fazl, Khud k muhabbat, aur Rhul Quds k sharkat p ke sth ho. Or: Ab slamat k Khudwand p ko hamesha har tarah k slamat bakhshe aur p ke sth ho. Or: Khudwand p ke sth ho p ke sth bh ho. Penitential Act The Priest invites the faithful to the Penitential Act. Then one of the Penitential Acts follows: Main Qdir I Mutlaq Khud, aur p ke smne, iqrr kart hn, ki main ne apne khiylon, bton aur kmon, nz ghaflat se, beshumr gunh kiye hain. Or: The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Penitential Act The Priest invites the faithful to the Penitential Act. Then one of the Penitential Acts follows: I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, (striking the breast) through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. ----------

And with your spirit. A reading from the holy Gospel according to N. Glory to you, O Lord. At the end of the Gospel, the Deacon, or the Priest, acclaims: The Gospel of the Lord. The Liturgy of the Eucharist For Catholics, the Eucharist is the source and summit of the whole Christian life. It is the vital centre of all that the Church is and does, because at its heart is the real presence of the crucified, risen and glorified Lord, continuing and making available his saving work among us. During the Offertory Song the gifts of bread and wine are brought in procession. The Priest offers the prayers of blessing quietly at the altar. If the priest says the prayers aloud the assemblys acclamation each time is: Hamesha se hamesha tak Khud Mubrak ho.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. The Priest completes additional personal preparatory rites, and the people rise as he says: Pray, brethren that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. Then the Priest says the Prayer over the Offerings, at the end of which the people acclaim: mn. The Eucharistic Prayer The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just. The Priest concludes the Preface with the people, singing Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. After his private prayers of preparation the Priest genuflects, takes the host and, holding it slightly raised above the paten or above the chalice says aloud:

in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. Amen The Communion Rite The Lords Prayer At the Saviours command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. The Peace Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles Who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. Let us offer each other the sign of peace. All offer one another the customary sign of peace. Invitation to Communion

After his private prayers of preparation the Priest genuflects, takes the host and, holding it slightly raised above the paten or above the chalice says aloud:

Communion The communicants come forward in reverent procession, and make a preparatory act of reverence by bowing their head in honour of Christs presence in the Sacrament. Mash K Badan. (Mash K Khn) mn. After the distribution of Communion, if appropriate, a sacred silence may be observed for a while, or a psalm or other canticle of praise or a hymn may be sung. Wuh barkat k piyla jis par ham barkat dete hain, ky Mash ke khn k sharkat nahn? Aur wuh ro jo ham tote hain, ky Mash ke badan k sharkat nahn? 1 Qurinthon 10:16

Pas ai bhiyo, Main Khud k rahmaton k wsta de kar tum se iltims kart hn, ki tum apne badan Khud ke liye ek zinda, aur muqaddas, aur Khud k pasandda qurbn hone ke liye pesh karo, yih tumhr maql ibdat hai. Rmon 12:1

Preparation For Mass

I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh. John 6:51-52

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way also the chalice, after supper, saying, This chalice is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the chalice, you proclaim the Lords death until he comes. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, 28

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:16
