Biscuit Teacher Star Candy Episode 6 Teacher Ji Jyun Woo intently paints a picture of a woman.

As he paints he flashes back to her confession the previous night where she tearfully confessed how she hasnt realized the difficulty of being a teacher. He voices over I love you Bori-ya. Meanwhile Biscuit (Na Bori) starts nodding off in the Shi-Naes hospital room and Tae-in startles her awake. When leaves to go home to sleep, Tae-in walks out with her to grab more patient gowns. When Biscuit scolds Tae-in for eating Shi-Naes apple, Tae-in retorts that he doesnt get to eat that often, only eating cafeteria food or convenience store food. Biscuit latches on to that reason to lecture him to return home, citing his fathers physical beatings as a sign of caring and not something to be concerned over. Which, err, perhaps it is based in caring, but I definitely understand Tae-ins lack of enthusiasm to run home and grab meals with the pop. You get the idea that Tae-in treats the hospital as a second home when he comfortable snags a set of hospital keys from an unmanned nurse station. As they walk over to the supply room, Tae-in unlocks the door and asks Biscuit if she has ever taken care of a sick person before. She replies proudly that in her family, no one is ever sick. Its the one thing her family can claim. Tae-in quips back, Oh, its not having skinny legs and a flat chest? Ha. After unlocking the door he leaves the keys in the lock, and Biscuit follows him, absently removes the keys when closing the door behind them. Uh oh. When Tae-in attempts to open the door, he realizes that they are locked inside. Biscuit freaks out, while Tae-in pretends to be exasperated while clearly enjoying the situation. As Biscuit hits on the door and cries out for someone to help them, Tae-in stealthily pulls out his cell phone battery. So when Biscuit slaps herself on the head and realizes with relief that they have a cell phone and can just call someone for help, Tae-in innocently shows her that his cell phones battery has died. They both spend the night in the supply room, with Tae-in taking advantage of dark lighting of the room to scare her several times. Her reactions are hilariously extreme, so I dont blame his enjoyment. At one point she rails at him I was so surprised, I thought I would have a miscarriage!. Tae-ins reaction is comical as he stutters Then, you and Hyun Woo have already. She beats him over the head with a pillow. Hahahahah. Later during the night, Tae-in tells Biscuit about the woman that Ji Hyun Woo used to love, and how dedicated to that woman he was. While Tae-in is saying all of this in order to make Biscuit give up on him, but Biscuit says she already knows. She says that she doesnt care who he loves, she just likes him as he is, much to Tae-ins annoyance.

Apparently Hyun Woo is also thinking of Biscuit at the same time, as he calls her cell phone (which she accidentally left behind in the hospital room). Yu-Jin picks it up and lets him know that Biscuit left the hospital already. Back in the supply room, Tae-in cries out for his mother in his sleep. Concernd, Biscuit wakes him up and comforts him. Though his tears, Tae-in quietly tells Biscuit not to wait for Hyun Woo because he will never come to her. My momwaited her whole life for my father. But he never came back. He only came back for her funeral after she died. Like my mom, domt abandon me to wait for a person who wont come back. Dont abandon me. Biscuit says that she wont abandon him, because she cant live without him. Though she means it a platonic way, Tae-in makes her pinky promise that she will never abandon him. They fall asleep with their pinkies intertwined. Agh, my heart, how it hurts for you. In the morning, Tae-in wakes up first, and thoughtfully looks at the sleeping Biscuit with a smile on his face. He slowly leans in to kiss her on her forehead, and she unconsciously smiles in response. Tae-ins friends stumble into open the supply closet soon after, exasperated at seeing Tae-in in yet another compromising position with Biscuit. At school Tae-in triumphantly walks into Hyun Woos art room in order to laugh in face that Biscuit is now his. He assumes that Hyun Woo has hear a rumor (presumably one that involved Biscuit and him sleeping together overnight), but Hyun Woo is clueless about any rumor. Adorably disappointed, Tae-in accuses his friends for not spreading a rumor about him and Biscuit. They respond reasonably that they didnt want Biscuit to get in trouble like she did last time. Haha, Tae-in is being stumped at every turn. Pretty Boy (whose name I still havent pinned down), washes his face at the outdoor fountains, while Shy Girl, err, shyly places a napkin for him to dry his face with (and then promptly hides under the sink. Aw, thats cute. As he use the napkin to dry his face, she squees behind the sink, and I can totally identify with that feeling. Ah those small interactions with your crush were such hormonally compounded moments. Sang-tae, Jjang wannabe, is being harassed by a gang to bring Tae-in to them. The gang leader says that they will decide with a game of pool, and if Sang-tae loses, he has to bring Tae-in without fail. They show a comically dramatic and short game of pool, which apparently ends with Sang-tae losing. Tae-in must be brought in within a week. A classmate gives Tae-in a 22 day gift , usually a gift given between a couple 22 days since they first met. As they have known each other since freshman year of high school, he asks her why they would have a 22 day gift. She replies that its been 22

days since hes come back to Korea. (Also, its only been 22 days? I forget how quickly things can happen in a drama). She tells him to keep their relationship a secret from Jem-ma. Wait, what relationship? Did I miss something? Thankfully not, as Tae-in is also bewildered as to what relationship they have. She gives him a coy glance as if to say stop pretending you dont know. When Tae-in enters the classroom, Jem-ma and the girls crowd around Tae-in as she presents him with a gift. He laughs and asks What, is this also a 22 day gift?. Jemma is slightly put out and asks What, did someone else give you a gift?. Tae-in looks over at the person in question, and says No, no one gave me anything. Jemma gives him a watch, with the intention for him to think of her every second of every day. Tae-ins friend Ho-Jun says from the side Can you just hand over my present please? Haha, this guy. The other girls are used to this behavior, and are surprised that Tae-in still hands out with him. As the girls leave, Tae-in oh so generously hands over the new watch to Ho-Jun. HoJun accepts he gift as if it was his due, and apologizes to Tae-in for having to have him go through the trouble (of having to accept a gift on Ho-Juns behalf). The guys groan in harmony. When asked what will happen if Jem-ma finds out that Tae-in gave away her gift, Tae-in smugly replies that he has another watch. Ho-Jun, still needing to have his input, graciously tells Tae-in Sure, you can have that one. He then looks at his own watch and says It looks like she [Jem-ma] must have put in a lot of thought. (This is in continuation with the delusion that all the gift was meant for him). The rest of the group puts their heads on their desks and groan in frustration. Hahahahha. I am still not sure if Ho-Jun actually believes his delusions, but these small beats truly provide me a lot of entertainment. Tae-in comes to visit his father after school in the hospital to ask for a part time job. His father asks him why he needs the money, doesnt he receive an allowance from his step mother? Tae-in replies that thats not it, he just wants to buy something with money that hes earned. His father retorts that he should focus on studying instead of a part-time job. Tae-in continues his plea by saying that he can just work a little after school and during the weekends, and that hell do it without affecting his studies. He just wants enough to buy some clothes. Ahh, clothes. I wonder who for, hm? His father apparently heeds this request as in the next scene we see Tae-in collecting clothes from patient rooms to do laundry. Late at night at school, Hyun Woos office light is still on, which one of the older teachers notice. He comes to the office and notes that Hyun Woo is painting a picture of Biscuit (which presumably is the same picture the episode began with). The teacher realizes that the two have dated. As they go to a barbecue place to eat, Hyun Woo says As met each other as teacher and student, it seems difficult to love each other. I paint her whenever I think of her. Now I have paintings of her that fill

up my storage. Even if I painted more, I wouldnt know where to put it. It doesnt matter if she doesnt accept me. Im just afraid that she still thinks of me as her teacher. The teacher replies that titles dont matter, you are just two people in love. And what does it matter if you get rejected. As a man, you shouldnt be afraid of humiliation. Further, it seems that Na Bori likes him as a man. She always blushes in front of him, which is what a woman does in front of the man they like. In the hospital, Sang-Tae comes to visit Tae-in. He asks him to meet up with the gangsters, but Tae-in refuses, not wanting to be involved with those type of people anymore. He tells Sang-Tae to take care of the situation himself. Sang-Tae walks away dejectedly. I am not getting a good feeling. While Biscuit cuts her toenails at home, she gets a call from Hyun Woo. He asks what shes doing, and she scrambles for something a little lesscutting toe-nails like, and fumbles that shes reading a book. He asks which book shes reading and she responds just some book!. Hahaha. She says that it sounds like hes had a few drinks, and he replies in the affirmative. He asks if she has any plans for the next day and if she wants to go on a date. She basically topples off her bed and wears the biggest grin on her face as she tries to play it cool saying oh should we? As I would be bored otherwise anyway?. As soon as she gets off her phone she bounces all around the room, unable to contain her excitement. When her sister hears she asks incredulously, Wasnt he drunk. Biscuit cutely replies (hand guns and all) How did you know? Because hes saying crazy things. Ha. As Tae-in does the laundry at the hospital, Yu-Jin pops by to say hi, saying that its weird to see Tae-in act like a human. Tae-in says that its weird for him too, but its fun. The feeling of washing the clothes so they are clean and drying them so they become fresh. He likes it. Maybe he should get married to a rich woman so he can become a homemaker. I love you. You can be my at home-husband at any time Gong Yoo. Yu Jin reveals to us, as if we didnt know, that Tae-in is working in order to buy a present for Biscuit. He says that it would likely make her feel uncomfortable. Tae-in replies: You dont know how I feel. My mom only wore patient gowns for a long time until she died. Some colorful clothes in the spring, some sexy clothes in the summer, and other pretty seasonal clothes in fall and winter. I really wanted to see my mom wear clothes like that. I got sick of seeing her wearing the patient gown. So, the first present to my girlfriend should be clothes. Biscuit has a small body, so even inexpensive clothes will look pretty. Gah, how is a woman supposed to say no to that? Best reason for buying clothes ever. As if one is even necessary.

Yu Jin says that it sounds like Biscuit is his girlfriend. We then hear that Tae-in plans on giving her the clothes when he confesses his feelings to her. Omo. His excitement is so cute. We get this lovelt moment where Tae-in practices what hes going to say, and making himself giddy in the process. With almost painfully equivalent giddiness, Biscuit prepares for her date. Dissatisfied with her closet, Biscuit ends up stealing a new outfit from her sister. Heh. I get that. She comes to see Hyun Woo teaching kids how to play piano. A piano which is in the middle of a cement tennis court. Um, okay. Haha, I love how to make Hyun Woo seem like a perfect prince they add three grandmothers clapping along to the music in the background. We cut briefly to Tae in working in the hospital, where he has to hand wash a gown that a patient soiled. Ew. As Hyun Woo and Biscuit are walking, Hyun Woo says how he still is not able to see her as a teacher, laying it on thick with how he still thinks of her at 19. Dude, you were just talking about being worried that she still thinks of you as a teacher. You are not helping things. The date continues with Biscuit resignedly saying how she will constantly being thoughts of as a student, and not as an equal. Upset, she runs away with Hyun Woo chasing after her. Tae-in also runs, except he runs eagerly to a clothes shop after receiving his paycheck. He sends a dress Biscuits house, with a card telling her to wear the dress tomorrow, as he has something to say to her. After the disappointing date, Biscuit is in a dejected mood, and just tells her sister to wear the dress. The next day Tae-in comes to school, his mood excited. Sang-Tae interrupts his thoughts by pleading with him for help. Exasperated, Tae-in gives in, agreeing to help later but not today. Biscuit (notably not wearing Tae-ins dress) passes Hyun Woo in the hallway, and doesnt return the smile he offers her. He calls after her Bori-ya! which stops her in her tracks. She says mulishly please dont call me that in school Teacher Ji, not in front of the kids. She walks away and sees Tae-in waiting for her in front of the classroom. He looks at her outfit, and his face falls. He asks whether she received his gift. It takes her a moment, but she recalls it and tells him thanks, asking him what the occasion is. He simply responds that hell see her after school, in a disappointed voice. Yu-Jin is cleaning the restrooms, when Biscuit pops in to say hi. As she leaves she crosses Hyun Woos path, and ignores him to continue on. After school finishes, she leaves her office and Hyun Woo grabs her arm and says I didnt finish my story last time, you just left. She shakes off his arm and walks away, as he calls her saying

Bori-ya. The school security guard is making his rounds nearby, so she pulls him into a classroom. She tells him Its okay if you see me as a child, or even as a high school student wearing a uniform. But dont treat my feelings like that of a kid. You know how much I like you. Why are you pretending not to know? That makes me sad. Did I ask you to love me? Did I ask you to marry me? I just like you. No matter what, I just like you Teacher. Ive been wanting to say this for 6 years. He says after a deep breath I wasnt pretending. I really didnt know. You didnt know this either, that Ive liked you since you wore that school uniform. So stop being mad at me. Its been harder on me than it has on you. Na Bori is no lnger a high school student who wears a school uniform. I can confess nowI can confess nowI must have chanted that 100 times when I went to meet you. But how could you just leave me like that? In the middle of his speech we see Tae-ins head pop up from lying down on some chairs in the desk. OMO. Oh no. This is awful. We see him watch Hyun Woo embrace Biscuit, looking betrayed. Hyun Woo leans in to kiss Biscuit and Tae in shifts his eyes away, on the edge of tears. He drives his motorcycle from school, anger fueling his speed. Sang-tae meanwhile is receiving a verbal lashing from the gang leader for not bringing Tae-in, soon to become a physical lashing. He then goes to meet Tae-in, with his face busted up. He challenges Tae-in to a fight, to truly decide who is the schools Jjang. He gets a punch in Tae-ins face, and you can feel Tae-ins mounting anger from everything thats happened today. He carefully tells Sang-tae that he doesnt want to fight. Sang-tae just fuels him, taunting him that hes just scared. Oh no, you can already tell that Tae-in is spoiling for a way to get rid of his frustration, and Sang-tae is going to be the recipient. When Sang-tae goes into punch again, Taein takes is and falls. He then punches Sang-tae once, who since already injured, goes down like a felled bear. Yet Tae-in is past the point of reason, and just sees Sang-tae as a punching bag. He repeatedly punches the unconscious Sang-tae while yelling at him for not listening. Because he wasnt aware of the prior beatings Sang-tae received, he hasnt realized that Sang-tae is truly unconscious. By the time he realizes it , he falls back shocked. The teachers are having a meeting in the morning, talking about the problem of violence in kids. The head teacher tells Biscuit to pay more attention to her kids since they are thickheaded, and as shes defending her kids a timely call comes in. The call says that Tae-in is in the police station. Tae-ins father comes in to see Taein in handcuffs and rails at him in a truly frightening way, calling him an animal. You can see the fear in Tae-ins eyes as he tries to cover the cuffs holding his trembling hands together. Aw, puppy. His father tells the police to deal with his son according to the law, as he wont be protecting him. Tae-in takes all this in silence, and sleeps in the jail cell while thinking back to Biscuits promise that she would never abandon him. The next day she comes to visit him when hes released from the station,

applying medicine to his cuts. She asks him why he did it. Telling him she doesnt care if he did it or not, so to just say the truth. He just silently looks at her with pained eyes. She tells him not to worry because Sang-tae should be fine, just say the truth. Why did you do it? Why? He finally replies, Because you abandoned me. Oof. Biscuit returns home and sees the dress that Tae-in gave, and finally looks at his card carefully. Please wear this dress tomorrow. I have something to say to you. And on the bottom, it also reads Ill wait for you in the classroom. Park Tae In. Biscuit gasps as she realizes that he must have seen the kiss between herself and Hyun Woo. Sang-tae is in the hospital getting scans, when the gang forcefully advises his mother to take advantage of this situation to milk some money, as Tae-ins father is the president of the hospital. He tells her for that they will take care of it, since Sang-tae is like a brother to them. Gag. The mother somewhat fearfully agrees, apparently buying the story that the gang is close with Sang-tae. Biscuit hears the tail end of the conversation as she visits Sang-tae. Sang-taes minions are also in the hospital , and catch Biscuit to tell her that the gang wanted Tae-in to be a part of their group because he fights well and is from a rich family. But when Sang-tae wanted to leave the gang, they made Sang-tae bring Taein in as an exchange. When Biscuit talks to her sister about the X-ray of Sang-tae, her sister says that the collar bone damage could have only happened after being hit by something strong, likely not by a bare fist. He also had a head injury before, from falling. There must have been hurt by something earlier because the rate of blood coagulation was different. Slowly the pieces are coming together for Biscuit and we cut to a scene of policy cars filled with the gang members, coming to the policy station. Tae-in is realeased, but doesnt seem too happy about it. He visits Sang-Tae and apologizes, to which Sangtae says that a school cant have two Jjangs, and they go in for a fist bump. Aw. Biscuit waits for Tae-in in front of his house, wearing the dress he gave. She runs to meet him and says that though she doesnt have tofu, they should go out on a date. He silently walks past her, and she keeps talking, insisting that she didnt abandon him. Just because she likes Hyun Woo doesnt mean she likes him any less. Well, yes, but thats not really the point. As he continues to not respond to her eager words of reconciliation, she tells him that it took her 6 years to win Hyun Woos heart. Tae-in shouldnt think that he can win her heart so easily, right? Ah, you can just feel how she still thinks of him as a student, while hes hearing all of this as a man that loves her. He finally looks back at her, and agrees to be pulled into the date. They sit down in this beautiful park with cherry blossoms, and she opens up the home-made lunch that shes packed. Though still upset, he begins to thaw and accepts the food she

hands him. As the cherry blossoms fly around them, Biscuit voices over A boy looked at the stars for awhile, then he started crying. A star asked him, Child, why are you crying? The boy said, Youre so far away, so I cant touch you. Tae-in comes back home after the date, his arms swinging along with his good mood. As he arrives home he sees Jem-ma waiting for him. Her voice cuts through the mood as she asks if she should tell him how Biscuit became a teacher. Tae-in scoffs and says that hes not interested. She stops him and tells him that its interesting. Still unmoved, he tells her to get out of his way. As he walk away she tells him that Biscuit was not hired to be a teacher, but was hired specially by the school director. That stops Tae-in in his tracks. Jem-ma yells at him Do you understand Park Tae-In? Biscuit is a dog to keep watch on you by your step mom! Comments Gah. The guy just cant catch a break. This episode hits me in all the right ways, and I am 100% on board with everything Park Tae-in feels. The way Gong yoo can convey emotions through his eyes has always been remarkable, and they were really highlighted in this episode. Naturally in this drama, in order for the ending to be successful they have to convincingly show the audience how the love the characters have for each other supersedes the admittable squick factor of having a student date a teacher. This episode truly highlighted Tae-ins feelings for Biscuit, and how they contrasted from her feelings towards him. The obvious parallel between Biscuit and Hyun woo and Biscuit and Tae-in in this episode allowed for clear distinctions to rise to the surface. While Biscuit struggles with wanting to be treated as an equal by Hyun Woo, and highlights how he keeps calling her Bori-ya, she still calls him Teacher and acts like someone younger in front of him. When he called her out for simply leaving in the middle of their date, without giving him an opportunity to explain himself, that difference was clear. When he mentioned just a few sentences of how he finds it difficult to see her as a teacher, her mood got more and more upset, and she ran off in a way reminiscent of a kid putting their hands over their ears and yelling lalalalala just so they dont have to hear something displeasing. She further carried that grudge over to the next day, stomping her feet around him and making him reach out to her. The relationship with Tae-in and Biscuit is different though, because Tae-in honestly doesnt view her as a teacher. He sees her as an equal, and when Biscuit emphasizes how much of a kid he seems to her, though he isnt happy, he doesnt throw a tantrum. Instead he takes efforts to buy a dress to give her, and tries to be a man to her woman. While Biscuit says that she would still like Hyun Woo even if he was married and had a kid, Tae-in wouldnt stand for that. He views Hyun Woo as a rival, and someone who is in a position he wants to fill. Biscuits love for Hyun Woo, in comparison, seems more of an adoring love. One that is equally as content being one sided as it is when it is returned, and thats not a feeling Tae-in understands at all.

It broke my heart when Tae-in told Biscuit that he lashed out at Sang-tae because she abandoned him. When she took that response to mean he was admitting to being at fault, she was abandoning yet again. Tae-ins character in this drama reminds me of Gong yoo in Coffee Prince, where all he wants is someone to believe in him, to trust him. Gong yoo is so good at playing that vulnerable bleeding heart hero, where he would place everything on the line for the person he loves, and just wants someone to be there for him in return. This is why I love noona romances, because the guy just lays his heart at her feet, and has to be more open and vulnerable with his feelings in order for there to be a possibility for that love to be returned. Obviously there is a different element with them being student and teacher, which is why I think that they will only start accepting each others feelings after Tae-in graduates. So buckle up everyone, and strengthen your hearts, we have a long ride on the angst train left to go.
