Love
2009
Two words illusive are God and Love. It has never been easy to
fully comprehend full scope of implied meanings no matter how
well and elaborately they were explained or defined by masters and
scholars in fields of religion and spirituality. The depth and spread Has no
of their inclusiveness go far beyond the skills of the mind and
material existence and extend well into realm of the metaphysical
Earthly
and the spiritual existences. Concluded the ancient Wise, God is substitute
Love and Love God to avoid further confusion. But what is Love
that makes it Divine…..

LOVE

Two words highly illusive are God and Love

I never clearly comprehend but get reactive
Ignorance of true meaning is excuse for abuse
Words suggestive of spiritual plane
For earthly weaknesses I dare not misuse

Does God recognize one on basis of religion?

Can parents prove they did their best for children?
Can children convince they are grateful to parents?
Can resolve be doubted if results fall short?
Can patriotism be suspect if one does not praise war?
Do claims to absolute beauty make sense?
Such as these are earthly, may await resolution

Does exclusiveness make sense, in case of love?

Is ‘love’ appropriate if not inclusive all of creation?
Can mind fully grasp what love truly meant?
Love is God and God Love, it is said, but when?
One may not love, but can restrain use of the word
Can we be content and stop defining love,
Indescribable through languages devised
With our minds and are already familiar

“Love” my dad, mom, dog, friend, car, nails, hair, salad…

Means simply we enjoy as is presently, happy and pleased
“Love” in scriptures and in daily use have little semblance
Seem to belong to consciousness of far apart planes
Is Love liking, desiring, rejoicing at, respecting
Be affectionate, enjoy or in passion,…..?
Perhaps feeling of good will for all, no favoritism
No matter who, what, when, where and how, no condition

One may love but can anyone prove?

All attributes that mind devised
We may succeed in proving
Proof possible in realm of mind
Not of heart where Love belongs

No way to prove love through gifting

Or, by positive behavioral acts, sad thing
Love is not relative relationship,
But Absolute Force creating and sustaining
Neither discriminative nor demanding

Nor expecting in return anything

A prime quality of field of Life,
Universal, eternal and all-inclusive
Love is self-rewarding seeking none else
A divine attribute rendering
Ordinary mortals unworthy of claiming

Defies definition and practice

Operates and known only through feeling
Can’t Love but can be in Love when that happens
Heart It’s seat and hearts It binds,
Beyond mind’s capacity for grasping

As Nature’s device, it is passion

Perpetuating life by deluding us into action
Love cycles us through extremes of pleasure
Pain, ease and turmoil, eventually forcing
To inquire who we are in truth and why here
Never mind the kinds of lives we are living

Desirous of pleasure and happiness

No sadness and no suffering
Often we reason and question
Doubt and take to despondency
At opposing sensational rides at work
Granted by Universal-Life forces
Through Grace, Mercy and Love

Whomever we like, whichever we enjoy

Presently we say, we Love
Whom we like and what we enjoy
Keep changing if we care to observe

Love is pouring of pure goodwill

Wishing peace and happiness to all,
Recognizing and honoring the given
Disposition of each and all in creation
Like or dislike, praise or condemnation
Want or pride if persist in heart,
Surely we are else anything but loving

Proof of a pudding is in eating, simple.

Love, when the object longs
Feels inspired, secure, and serene
Looses sense of self in
Thoughts of the loved one.

Being in passion beyond reach of reason

Out of intense desire hijacked by delusion
Also go as love, a word highly abused
Very unfortunate and saddening indeed

Essentially one sided, like God’s towards all

Whether or not we believe or recognize at all
One loves of own accord if love is what one feels
If not reciprocated, no concern shows

One in love is ready for sacrifice, often unconscious of it

If not giving the very best, a lover cannot rest
Happiness of the beloved matters most
On suffering one subject to, no limits ever set.

Love, no means for transaction

But for transformation
Love, not a matter of just pleasant sensation
But of pure benediction
Love, not mere sensual gratification
But sweet-pain of hearts seeking union
Love, not a mundane thing to trade
But the means to be divine
Love, not an act of making anything
But losing oneself in comforting and caring
Love, not a quality to imbibe, cultivate or adapt
But whenever happens to know and accept
Love, happens with ego melting down to naught
The entity gaining universal consciousness,
Duality no more real in life as a being

What of love of mother, of father, hubby, sonny,

Daughter, sibling, friend and of else any
Affection, concern, striving and heart-full praying
For the well being of relatives or others
Though deemed love
Is but love of oneself, Earthly
It is one sure way of becoming a prey
To spells of delusion to find self gratification
Surely a victim of social norms and persuasion

Playing the role that life makes for us

In the scheme of things, providing support for some
Surely we can love none but ourselves
Constantly experiencing duality in existence

Love is not possessive, demanding, controlling

Acquiring, influencing, attaching to,
Not to be submissive, pitiful, compulsive
Gratifying or misleading.
Love is where prevails an atmosphere,
Free, fair and harmonious,
Respectful, peaceful and tensionless
Where help is within reach unsought, unconditionally
The kind the LIFE benedicts naturally
Universally through sentient and inert structures
To embodied souls eternally to reach back to Origin

The Wise seem to say:

God Loves and God-like also Love. We being sentient are capable of feeling It if we
divert full attention towards God with love and unwavering devotion. An instant of such
feeling is all that is required to know Love.
Like almost everything in the world, words can only describe; some description qualifies
to be an acceptable definition; but none is equal to knowledge-through- experiencing.
