COURSE DESCRIPTION The Human Behavior course is an introduction to the basic principles and methods of study relating to human behavior. It presents major concepts, principles and processes concerned with human functioning in individual and social settings. This course is designed to provide a foundation for more advanced study in Psychology and related fields. COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. Recognize major contributors to the field of psychology; and identify the milestone events & theories that characterize the history of Psychology. 2. Differentiate between different research methods, concepts and terminology; and be able to recognize them in practice. 3. Describe the major theories and concepts of learning; and generate examples applicable to life. 4. Recognize the function & role of memory, motivation & emotion. 5. Recognize the various theories of personality, their proponents, significant terms and concepts. 6. Recognize & identify the categories of various psychological disorders; and the various treatment modalities and approaches. 7. Integrate & apply the concepts in the above objectives to what students observe and experience in their own life.
