The Present, Imperfect, and Future tenses are formed like 1st conjugation verbs, except note the different vowel on the present stem: Present Tense moneo mones monet monemus monetis monent Imperfect Tense monebam monebas monebat monebamus monebatis monebant Future Tense monebo monebis monebit monebimus monebitis monebunt

All 2nd conjugation verbs are formed this way in these three tenses. Present Stem + tense/personal endings You will find that some verbs in your vocabulary do not have a fourth principal part. That is because the verb is defective and cannot be used in certain voices and tenses. Continue to memorize all the principal parts each verb does have. The three tenses above are called the Present System of Tenses, as they are built on the present stem of a verb.
